Guest: Kevin Changes that occurred on Jan 1st.

As a brief reminder for those who forgot or that didn’t know.

Here is what happened, quietly, on Jan.1, 2016
Medicare tax went from 1.45% to 2.35%

Top Income tax bracket went from 35% to 39.6%

Top Income payroll tax went from 37.4% to 52.2%

Capital Gains tax went from 15% to 28%

Dividend tax went from 15% to 39.6%

Estate tax went from 0% to 55%

A 3.5% Real Estate transaction tax was added.

Remember these facts:
These taxes were all passed solely with Democrat votes.

Not a single Republican voted for these new taxes.

These taxes were all passed in the Affordable Care Act, (aka Obamacare) – by line items.   If you think that it is important that everyone in the U.S. should know this as there are many millions who don’t, then pass it on.

John: And the GOP was given back control of Congress over a year ago specifically to amend or stop Obama-care and has done nothing.
Trump very well may not be what people think he is and (if elected) may not do what some people hope he well.   But…
His insane level of popular support should damn well send a message to both the Dems and the GOP that we the people are fed up and ready for change.
Our idea of change. Not Kenya/Indonesia/Chicago boy’s idea of ‘change’.

Remember, Obie wants to see Hillary elected to ‘Preserve his Legacy’.   What if his legacy is Donald Trump?

Self-Segregation, we have now come full circle.   The biggest complaint seems to be that “Straight out of Compton” received no nominations.  Well, I might have a explanation for that; I didn’t see it because the entire culture of drugs, violence and profanity it was based on, (the Black Urban Culture), is completely repugnant to me.   As I believe it is for many Americans.  I suspect that the majority of the Academy voters felt the same way.  Not going to see it, if you didn’t see it than you ain’t going to nominate it.  You don’t award, reward or applaud  that kind of trash.

But any Black actors or actresses or Black directors that feel like skipping the Oscars, go right ahead. Fade back into the shadows, feel free to sulk and separate your wonderful, cool selves from the rest of us.  Use the back door, sit in the back of the bus.  But this time it’s your decision.

Jada, one last thing.  You were great in “Gotham” last year.  I was hoping to see a return of your character in the future, you did great work.  Congratulations.  But I guess you would prefer to stay in the shadows.  OK, your choice.   Pity.

Midship … mates?’ Navy moves to sink gender-specific titles

As Sen. John McCain (USN Capt. ret) commented “The United States Navy and Marine Corps have too many real enemies to defeat and deter. The Secretary of the Navy should have better things to do than adding the English language to the list.”   Personally I can attest, I volunteered to help the seniors in town to install safety bars and change light bulbs; the position used to be called ‘handyman’ now it’s ‘handyperson’.

100 million people to be affected by storm with up to two feet of snow stretching from Mississippi to Boston – and DC is ALREADY paralyzed after the first inch

Don’t I know it.  My late wife’s family used to live in the DC area and those people totally freaked out at the slightest hint of snow.  Visiting for the holidays I was the King of the Road driving my father-in-law to the store with my front wheel drive, on radial snow tires.  On a (barely) 5% grade that was dusted with snow, we went by a woman who had a death grip on the wheel and her rear tires were smoking with the speed the wheels were spinning. She had floored the gas and held it there.

Good luck to them, I guarantee that there won’t be anything left on the shelves by 5pm tonight.

Drip, drip, drip…

Inspector General: Clinton emails had intel from most secretive, classified programs

EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton’s emails on her unsecured, homebrew server contained intelligence from the U.S. government’s most secretive and highly classified programs, according to an unclassified letter from a top inspector general to senior lawmakers.

Fox News exclusively obtained the unclassified letter, sent Jan. 14 from Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III. It laid out the findings of a recent comprehensive review by intelligence agencies that identified “several dozen” additional classified emails — including specific intelligence known as “special access programs” (SAP).

That indicates a level of classification beyond even “top secret,” the label previously given to two emails found on her server, and brings even more scrutiny to the presidential candidate’s handling of the government’s closely held secrets.

“To date, I have received two sworn declarations from one [intelligence community] element. These declarations cover several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the IC element to be at the confidential, secret, and top secret/sap levels,” said the IG letter to lawmakers with oversight of the intelligence community and State Department. “According to the declarant, these documents contain information derived from classified IC element sources.”

Clinton’s answer to this, “Untrue and intended to hurt her Presidential campaign”.

Well?  Don’t you think it should?   The movie “13 hours, Secret Soldiers” doesn’t address the actions or inactions of then Sec. of State Clinton because the men on the ground in the ‘mud and the blood’ could only testify to what they could see or heard, not what was happening or not happening in Washington.  But this report on the contents of the emails, added to the previous revaluations, add up to a much worse, deliberate series of crimes than Watergate or Iran Contra.

Do you think that Hollywood will want to see a movie about this? Hell, I can’t even see the current movie on Benghazi at the local theater in liberal Hingham, MA.  Same theater that wouldn’t show ‘Call to Action’, the Seal picture.

(As Doug would say…this just in!)

Obama Goes After Petraeus To Send A Chicago-Style Message

But going after retired Gen. David Petraeus a second time for national security indiscretions is a bridge too far. The Daily Beast reports Defense Secretary Ash Carter has reopened the Petraeus case to consider stripping the hero of one or two of his four stars in retirement.

As CIA director, Petraeus shared classified notebooks with his biographer/mistress, who also had security clearance. No classified intel appeared in the book, “All In.”

Petraeus was allowed to plead guilty to unauthorized handling of classified intelligence, fined $100,000 and put on two years’ probation.

The FBI is said to be investigating Hillary Clinton’s sharing of more than 1,300 classified documents with God-knows-who all on her unsecured private email server, despite repeated warnings and subsequent obfuscations.

But, hey, she’s a Democrat, the best one to preserve Obama’s legacy. Don’t hold your breath for an indictment from an Obama Justice Department.

Petraeus erred. He confessed. He didn’t attempt to parse his way out like Hillary and Bill. Let’s recall what the general accomplished before his misdemeanor plea: 37 years in the Army, creating and implementing under two presidents the surge strategy that snatched Iraq victory from defeat, ran Central Command, accepted Obama’s request to take a demotion to run his Afghan war, then accepted Obama’s request to quit his military career and run the CIA.

The real goal is a Chicago-style warning flare to any retiring military to keep your mouth shut. And don’t testify before the Benghazi committee, as Petraeus just did.

Even Stalin would blush.   I wonder if Barry is planning to give Hillary a pardon to ‘Fireproof’ her?

Dilbert on Trump.

This is so good I have to reblog it.

The Biggest Trump Story That You Missed (Master Persuasion Series)

Posted January 15th, 2016 @ 5:45pm in #Trump

by Scott Adams

If I asked you to describe Donald Trump’s supporters in one word, you might say angry. As I have taught you in the Master Persuader series, if most people have the same explanation for a thing, they’re probably right.

Now suppose I asked you for one word to describe what the opponents of Donald Trump dislike about him the most. This time your answers are all over the map. Some say he’s a fascist. Some say he’s xenophobic. Or racist. Some say he’s only in it for the money, or the ego. Some say he’s a narcissist. Others believe he is secretly working with the Clinton campaign to guarantee Hillary’s victory. Some say he is just bitter, or stupid. Some expect him to announce it was all a joke and quit.

That’s a lot of reasons. But I submit to you that all of those reasons – as varied as they seem – have one thing in common. And that one thing can be embodied in one word.

Motive.

No one doubts Trump’s effectiveness to get things done. That conversation ended sometime between his overthrow of the Republican leadership and his complete dominance of every media outlet. I think it happened at about the same time you watched him dismantle the Bush dynasty and the Clinton dynasty, in that order.

So you know he can do things.

But smart people – and lots of them – have doubted Trump’s motives. And for good reason. Trump’s campaign slogan about making America great sounds like standard political blah-blah-blah. And why would Trump want to leave his ideal billionaire life for a government job? Something doesn’t add up.

With Trump, it feels as if there is something we don’t know. And when someone with that much power has unknown motives, it is wise to steer clear. It would be insane to elect someone with Trump’s level of effectiveness without understanding his motives.

I don’t know what is in Trump’s mind, but I have some context to offer because my background overlaps with Trump’s in some coincidental ways. Like Trump, I’m an older, white, male, raised in New York State, in a protestant family, in a Trump-like Republican town, with Trump-like Republican parents. By that I mean the people in my town talked more about taxes than religion.

So here’s what I know: Generally speaking, men raised in protestant, Republican, New York families are not spending a lot of time hugging and sharing feelings. It just isn’t done.

If you need someone to pull you out of a burning vehicle, the men who grew up in New York are great to have around. We were raised to be useful. But if you want to watch a sad movie and share your feelings, we’re busy that night.

And that’s a problem for Trump.

Trump’s inability to express empathy created a void in our minds about his motivation. So people filled in the void and came up with their own stories to explain Trump’s motives.

This is the so-called third-act problem that I described in an earlier post. In movie fashion, we have a protagonist who has been trained from childhood to suppress his feelings. But in order to win the presidency he must display real empathy or else the public will distrust his motives, especially on immigration.

But Trump doesn’t do empathy. Part of the reason, I assume, is that showing empathy would make him look weaker in future negotiations. But I believe his upbringing is part of it as well.

Trump’s empathy problem was unsolvable, just like any good movie.

And then the GOP debate happened. By now you know that Ted Cruz made the mistake of questioning the values of New Yorkers. And as you know by now, Donald Trump took the ultimate high ground – a move of sublime political deftness – and got the best of the exchange. If you didn’t see it, read it here. It is one for the ages.

But Trump did not shed a tear. His lip was not quivering. And he did not show his heart in the way we would want to see it. But in two words, found within his defense of New York, he solved the unsolvable. You just don’t know it yet.

Let me summarize it for you. The realization will start small, and build in the coming days.

If you are wondering why Donald Trump is more of a bad-ass on immigration than you feel is either right or necessary, here’s the difference:

You heard about 9/11. Trump smelled it.

I’m calling this the immigration surprise that I predicted. I thought it would involve a VP selection, but he took the opportunity when it arose.

Now that Trump has an acceptable motive – a story you will see emerge in the media – the election is essentially over.

Trump will win Iowa and run the table.

How? Why? Who?

Back eight years ago we were about to have an election for President, after eight years of war and the Presidency of George W. Bush.  The election was eventually down to a war hero and female state Governor against a half-term US Senator and an nitwit another US Senator.   It seemed like a unequal contest, a sure victory for the GOP.

Then the economy was crashed, deliberately I thought then and I still think so.  The housing ‘crisis’ was centered in an ill-conceived government (Democrat) construction that had been wasting huge amounts of money to buy the loyalties of the poor.  Having control of it, much like the control the Jihadi had over the airliners they hijacked and like those doomed planes they flew the housing market and the economy into the ground.  Using the damaged economy as an issue they turned the election around (and by their incompetence) after the new administration came into office with a new Democrat majority they totally crashed the economy.  Which has never fully recovered.

And now it seems that they are about to do it again.

The huge stock market crash that is playing out makes no sense.  In the past the high price of oil caused recessions, that is understandable.  If the cost of the most important energy component is too high then industry, travel and disposable income stagnates.   But ‘low oil prices‘ (and the subsequent drop in energy prices) can cause a stock market crash and imminent recession?  How? Why?  It’s not the price of a barrel of oil that is the trigger but the impending national election.  The control of the Congress and the Presidency.  And this time it’s an inside job.

And rather than see an outsider, Donald Trump, get elected the GOP is at least compliant if not complaisant.

Raise the militia, if they don’t want an honest election then lets have a Revolution.

Doug: American Boats and Iran.

This just in…….Doug

SemperFi signature

A former SEAL Officer’s take on the recent Iran/U.S. Sailors incident:

“I hope none of my Facebook friends are gullible enough to believe the strayed into Iranian waters and had mechanic problems nonsense.   I rarely pull out my dusty old trident, but in this case, here goes.   I was a Navy SEAL officer in the 1980s, and this kind of operation (transiting small boats in foreign waters) was our bread and butter.

Today, these boats both not only had radar, but multiple GPS devices, including chart plotters that place your boat’s icon right on the chart.   The claim by Iran that the USN boats “strayed into Iranian waters” is complete bull$h!t.

For an open-water transit between nations, the course is studied and planned in advance by the leaders of the Riverine Squadron, with specific attention given to staying wide and clear of any hostile nation’s claimed territorial waters.   The boats are given a complete mechanical check before departure, and they have sufficient fuel to accomplish their mission plus extra.

If, for some unexplainable and rare circumstance one boat broke down, the other would tow it, that’s why two boats go on these trips and not one!   It’s called “self-rescue” and it’s SOP.

This entire situation is in my area of expertise.   I can state with complete confidence that both Iran and our own State Department are lying.

The boats did not enter Iranian waters.   They were overtaken in international waters by Iranian patrol boats that were so superior in both speed and firepower that it became a “hands up!” situation, with automatic cannons in the 40mm to 76mm range pointed at them point-blank.   Surrender, hands up, or be blown out of the water.

I assume that the Iranians had an English speaker on a loudspeaker to make the demand.   This takedown was no accident or coincidence, it was a planned slap across America’s face.

Just watch.   The released Sailors will be ordered not to say a word about the incident and the Iranians will have taken every GPS device, chart-plotter etc off the boats, so that we will not be able to prove exactly where our boats were taken.

The “strayed into Iranian waters” story being put out by Iran and our groveling and appeasing State Department. is utter and complete BS from one end to the other.” – Matt Bracken

John: Yeah, I definitely think we are being lied to and they can’t even be bothered to lie convincingly.  The headlines were, “Sailors and Boats returned!” and (of course) another amazing job of international diplomacy by Sec. of State John Kerry.

The question of how two USN boats went off course; what possible ‘failure’ caused them to ‘drift’ into Iranian waters when each boat had two engines and GPS up the wazoo.  These questions are NOT being asked or answered.

Sailors, boats back. That is nice.  What about the Nav, Satellite  and ‘Crypto’ comm gear?  Is it missing?  Was it opened or photographed?  Any interviews being planned for the sailors or their direct superiors?

WWRD…“What would Reagan do?”
