Sports Illustrated under fire for ‘racist’ photoshoot where white models pose with African tribesman and Chinese man in a cone hat

OK, Here’s some Chinese models in New York, shown with “natives”. All better now?

Finally this age-old question is answered: Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the cojones?
Women always say that giving birth is much more painful than a guy getting kicked in the cojones.
They are wrong, and here’s the proof.
A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, “It might be nice to have another child.”
You never, ever hear a guy say, “You know, I think I would like another kick in the cojones.” Case closed.
I lost an old friend this month.
Terry McCutchen, AKA “The Furry Beast”.
I’ll willing to bet that the average intelligence of the country dropped a point when he passed away. While I was putting together the Tank post (proceeding) I realized that I had so many great stories about Terry. He once told me that his departure from the Army came after he flipped a tank he was driving in Georgia. Apparently those “escape” hatches on the bottom don’t work very well if the tank is upside down. He had a three digit employee badge at Digital Equipment Company (DEC) which means something to those in the know (and in the NE).
I remember watching the television coverage of Three Mile Island (the overblown nuclear “accident”) and getting the color coverage from Terry. He was doing the nuclear physics in his head and beating the talking heads on TV to the punch by at least a half an hour.
While moving into our new house in Weymouth, (in the first and only road rage incident where someone came at me with a weapon) Terry casually disarmed the attacker. Who immediately fled back to his car and attempted to flee. Terry sauntered up to his car window and expertly hit him in the throat with the side of his hand. I’d never before seen a car drive off… staggering. All this, while daintily holding his lit cigarette in the other hand and in-between puffs.
He is the inventor of the phrase,”Grumphe”. Which he defined as the wonderful feeling you have in the morning when you wake up from a lovely dream in which you consumed the worlds biggest and most delicious marshmallow, only to discover that your pillow is missing.
Have a fantastic journey my friend, see you on the other side.
“Lance Miller, a 41-year-old from Loudonville, Ohio, sold his elegant little Stuart, a tank famous for its service in the Pacific, for $200,000 to raise money to restore his dream tank—a 1943 Sherman. “It’s sort of the pinnacle of military-vehicle collection to have a piece of armor,” Mr. Miller says.
He says he has put about $280,000 into his Sherman so far and expects to spend as much as $75,000 more. “You get a tank, you end up with an ex-wife,” warns Mr. Miller, who has one of each.”
A tank in the U.S. can have operational guns, if the owner has a federal Destructive Device permit, and state laws don’t prohibit it. Continue reading

2012 Junior II Champs – National Shag Dance
TURN UP YOUR SPEAKERS AND SIT BACK AND START SNAPPING YOUR FINGERS!!!!
Usually the female is featured, but here the young man steals the show – his legs are like liquid magic. And, bless her heart, she lets him shine.
He’s 17 and she’s only 15. But together, they won the 2012 Junior Division National Carolina Shag Dancing Championships. They’re dancing to Joe Turner’s “Flip, Flop and Fly.”

In the past two decades, the AR-15 has evolved into an open, modular gun platform that’s infinitely hackable and accessorizable. With only a few simple tools and no gunsmithing expertise, an AR-15 can be heavily modified, or even assembled from scratch, from widely available parts to suit the fancy and fantasy of each individual user. In this respect, the AR-15 is the world’s first “maker” gun, and this is why its appeal extends well beyond the military enthusiasts that many anti-gun types presume make up its core demographic.
Parents of students at a Texas high school are outraged after discovering their children have been encouraged to dress in Islamic clothing and taught to refer to the 9/11 hijackers not as terrorists but as ‘freedom fighters.’
Students in a Lumberton High School geography class were also told to stop referring to the Holocaust as Genocide and were instead told to use the term ‘ethnic cleansing.’

A photograph of five female students wearing burqas surfaced on Facebook, sparking an angry outburst from the mother of one of the girls.

It’s for stating the fact that Harvard has many times more Communists than Republicans, pointing this out (Outing?) is apparently a hate crime…to the left.
Now, it’s something of a hyperbolic flourish to describe armchair radicals of this sort as people “who believed in the Communists overthrowing the United States government,” and as Fried notes, the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 had necessarily pushed a lot of previously proud Marxists to go underground and readjust their rhetoric. But as even Matt Yglesias conceded, “[t]he conclusion that …a follower of Marx’s ideas is, like Marx, a Communist seems perfectly plausible.” The fact that the fall of Communism made the Crits somewhat abashed about their intellectual heritage and its logical conclusions is no reason to discount the thorough Marxist influence in their work, or shrink from asking why arguably the nation’s leading law school should employ several times more of them than Republicans.
Via Hot Air, Baseball Crank defends Ted Cruz by noting is (or was) in fact true that there were more Marxists on the faculty at Harvard Law than Republicans.
He was there. And he can, I assume, count.
I have a more basic, less-fact based objection to Jane Mayer’s attempt to demagogue Ted Cruz:
Why is it that Marxists, and Marxists alone, are protected against having their politics noted?…
Truth is a defense in libel. It ought to also be a defense to the charge of “fascism.”
“Bean Counting is the Basis of All “Diversity” Programs… Why is it that Ted Cruz is forbidden from counting red beans?”

President Barack Obama won’t have to worry about his paycheck if the spending sequestration included in the Budget Control Act that he signed into law in 2011 begins taking effect this Friday.
A report published last month by the Congressional Research Service — “Budget Sequestration and Selected Program Exemptions and Special Rules” — identifies certain programs that are exempt from sequestration and lays out special rules that govern the sequestration of others.
Section 255 of the Budget Control Act includes “Compensation for the President” as one of those exemptions (Page 19).

Kennesaw’s 1982 gun mandate was a direct response to a gun -ban- enacted a year earlier in Morton Grove, Illinois. That was later deemed unconstitutional, but Kennesaw’s law is still on the books.
Added Lt. Graydon, “It was not meant to be an enforceable law. The police department has never searched homes to make sure you had a gun. It was meant more or less as a political statement to support citizens’ second amendment rights to own firearms.”
After the law went into effect in 1982, city leaders say they witnessed a 29% drop in crime. Over the last 30 years, the crime rate has remained low with just four gun-related homicides.
“Our crime rate is generally less than half the national average,” added Lt. Graydon.

Anthony Brasfield saw romance when he released a dozen heart-shaped balloons into the sky over Dania Beach with his sweetie. A Florida Highway Patrol trooper saw a felony.
Brasfield, 40, and his girlfriend, Shaquina Baxter, were in the parking lot of the Motel 6 on Dania Beach Boulevard when he released the shiny red and silver mylar balloons and watched them float away Sunday morning.
Also watching the romantic gesture: an FHP trooper, who instead noted probable cause for an environmental crime.
Brasfield was charged with polluting to harm humans, animals, plants, etc. under the Florida Air and Water Pollution Control Act.
Lets be honest, he made a mistake. The balloons were supposed to have
The Obama administration is sparing no effort to scare people about the automatic spending cuts that are scheduled to hit this Friday.
But the Obama administration doesn’t want to talk about its own devastating cuts in Medicare. On Friday, February 15, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced $716 billion in cuts over the next ten years. Instead of being put toward the debt, most of the money will go toward a new entitlement: Obamacare’s vast expansion of coverage for the uninsured.
Where Obama is cutting is telling. At least half of the savings will come out of Medicare Advantage, under which a full 28 percent of seniors buy privately managed health insurance that often includes added benefits such as vision and dental care or chronic-illness management.
CMS will come under pressure to revise or reverse the cuts before they are made final on April 1. Some adjustments are possible, but the law will continue to mandate a squeeze on Medicare Advantage. President Obama promised Americans in 2009 that “if you like your health-care plan, you can keep your health-care plan.” The reality is that not only are millions of Americans likely to lose health-care coverage from their employers, but millions more will lose the Medicare Advantage plans they’ve grown used to
Some Democratic politicians worry privately about the impact Medicare Advantage cuts will have on their senior constituents. In 2009, then-governor of Oregon Ted Kulongoski went public with his concerns, writing to the Obama administration to protest its plans to “scale back Medicare Advantage.” In Oregon, 42 percent of all seniors are enrolled in private Medicare plans, and Kulongoski noted that “they play an important role in providing affordable health coverage.” He emphasized that the plans have significantly reduced hospital-admission rates for patients with chronic diseases.
Seniors are now going to confront a new chronic condition — politics. Unless it is changed, Obamacare will relentlessly restrict the choices seniors have by forcing them into traditional Medicare with all of its attendant contradictions, restrictions, and waste. Medicare Advantage has its problems, but they could be surgically addressed. Instead, the bureaucrats running Obamacare are set on slowly starving the program. By focusing solely on the politics of the sequester, the media are ignoring the Obama administration’s bigger, more brazen threat to vulnerable American seniors. [Edited for length]
“Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) accused Obama of trying to make support for his position look stronger than it really is by flooding Twitter with messages from people who don’t exist.” They do tend to be new accounts with egg-avatars [ default avatar that Twitter gives to every new account] and hardly any followers.
Translation: Twitter messages can be [often are] composed from “smart” phones and are severely limited to the number of characters that can be used (128 if memory serves). Twitter accounts are free and the gist of this accusation is that millions of new Twitter accounts are being created by computers and used to falsely pump up the administrations claims of public support. The “Tell” is that the tiny graphic seen when a Twitter message is received (The Avatar) is unchanged on all of these similarly worded messages. It is easy to change your avatar, most people do. In other words, “people” do. Computers don’t.
Followers is more than the name of a new Fox TV show, in the online world the longer the account is in existence the more followers it has. I have been up for less than two years and I have about forty followers (and I didn’t even send them out any Christmas cards). Zero followers means next to zero online lifespan.
Bogus!
Do the numbers; 7,000 deaths from firearms (including Police shootings, home self-defense and suicides), 32,000 deaths from drunk driving.
It makes WAY more sense to blame AAA for drunk driving then NRA for Sandy Hook.
“If you’re the president, if you’re a member of Congress, if you are a TSA agent, the only reason why somebody should listen to what you say, instead of horsewhipping you out of town for your impertinence, is because you exercise power via the Constitution.
If the Constitution doesn’t count, you don’t have any legitimate power. You’re a thief, a brigand, an officious busybody, somebody who should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail for trying to exercise power you don’t possess.” — Full Podcast: Glenn Reynolds on Politics, the Constitution, and Technology
It is through the Constitution that the power to control the military and the executive power that gives him dominion over the armed and dangerous men that are controlled by the Departments and Bureaus of the government. As this Prince of Fools continues to travel far beyond the past limits of power and control over the citizens of our country it is only this weight of Arms that will sustain him. If the men holding those guns (each) decide that he is still standing on that Constitution.
If they decide he is no longer standing with the Constitution as his oath requires, that is the interesting question. What will happen to a nascent dictator standing in the midst of all those dedicated and armed men if and when they decide he no longer is controlled by adherence to his Constitutional oath?
