And another one bites the dust…

More details emerge on how changing events lead to the attempted arrest and subsequent shooting of the Portland murderer, Reinoehl.    It was the opening shot (so to speak) of a sea change in the lawlessness occurring around the nation.

Trump Masterfully Takes Radical Portland DA Out Of The Equation & Rioters Are Shook

Rioting has continued in Portland for weeks and the cities top prosecutor has been dropping charges against rioters. It was so frustrating that last month Oregon State Police left the city blaming the prosecutor for dropping charges against rioters.

Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt said that he wouldn’t prosecute protesters arrested for lesser offenses, like interfering with a police officer or ignoring police orders to clear the streets.

“We continue to prioritize public safety resources in Multnomah County by focusing on the violent crimes occurring at protests and in our community, including the recent and alarming increase in gun violence this summer,” Schmidt said.

Wow! Stupid and crazy in one breath!  Schmidt is a Democrat, of course you guessed that.

Now the Oregon State Police troopers assigned to help the police in Portland have now been cross-deputize by the federal government. This means that the US Attorney’s Office can lodge charges against those arrested by deputized troopers.

KGW’s Pat Dorris explained what this means for rioters:

“This is basically the ground changing under the feet of the protesters. because when the state police come in and are cross-deputized by the [U.S. Marshals], they’re able to make arrests under the federal law. And I’m told there is something similar to interfering with a police officer under the federal law. [Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt] will not prosecute someone for that charge, but the U.S. Attorney’s Office has been much more aggressive at holding people accountable and prosecuting for all kinds of charges. So, I think you’re going to see a lot more of that start to happen as soon as these officers arrive.”

Federal authorities are already filing charges.

Breaking: Michelle Peterson O’Connor, a Portland hotel sales manager, 31, has been charged w/civil disorder after assaulting a cross-deputized officer during a violent #antifa riot on 24 Aug. in Portland. This is the first confirmed federal charge involving a state trooper.

What’s remarkable here is that Trump has been able to use the power of the US government to help stop the riots without enacting the Insurrection Act.

It was a masterful move taking the radicals out of the equation and rioters are shaken

Good News.

Portland Killer Michael Reinoehl shot dead by police… Developing

LATEST UPDATE AT 5 AM

Reinoehl fired off 40 to 50 rounds before being killed by members of U.S. Marshals task force.

The Portland Police Bureau had issued a warrant for Reinoehl’s arrest earlier Thursday and asked the U.S. Marshals to find and apprehend him, according to an emailed statement from USMS spokesperson Dave Oney.

Thurston County sheriff’s Lt. Ray Brady said the Pierce County sheriff’s fugitive apprehension team, working as part of the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, was in the area looking for a wanted homicide suspect when they saw the suspect come out of an apartment, to a vehicle.

“The suspect came out to the car. They attempted to put him into custody and shots were fired.”

There was “a confrontation” between the officers on scene and the man, Brady said. Officers fired shots into the vehicle and the suspect ran from the car, Brady confirmed, then officers fired more shots.

Brady confirmed that four officers fired their weapons. The officers were from the state Department of Corrections, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and Lakewood Police Department. All officers on the scene were acting in U.S. Marshal capacity Thursday, according to Brady.

Chad Smith and Chase Cutler, who were working on cars nearby Thursday, said an unmarked SUV had been parked on School Street for a while when that SUV and another converged on a man in a vehicle at the apartment complex. Smith and Cutler moved onto a grassy area about 50 yards away to watch what was happening.

The man got out of his vehicle and began to fire what they believe was a semi-automatic rifle at the SUVs. They said they heard 40 or 50 shots, then officers returned fire, hitting the man.

The “Insurance Excuse”.

According to Insurance Journal, 75 percent of US businesses are under-insured. And according to the New York Times, about 40 percent of small businesses have no insurance at all.

Does Insurance Cover Rioting and Looting Damage?

Read the whole article…

(Summary) Four points that show how callous the idea that insurance “makes rioting, looting and arson OK”.

Fifteen dead from direct effects in the George Floyd riots.   When an entire business district is burned out, when do the residents shop for necessaries?  Especially the elders and the poor without vehicles.

Is your house insured?  So you won’t mind burning it down, would you?  What if your house isn’t insured?   Do you have health insurance? Yes? Then you don’t mind if I punch you in the nose do you?

Even for those many businesses that do have insurance covering rioting damage, it’s still a massive burden to have your businesses destroyed.

How do the business owners earn a living while waiting for insurance to pay and while waiting for overwhelmed construction companies to get to them?

When the damage goes over policy limits (demolition costs in Minneapolis averaged 100K, policy limits were typically 25k to 50K) where does that money come from?

Many communities never recover from major rioting and arson.   Watts never did, or Ferguson, nor is it likely Minneapolis will ever be the same.   New York City is emptying out like a broken bottle.

The animals doing the burning and the looting together with their ‘spokes-animals’ have never built a business from the ground up.  Likely have never worked a day in their lives.

The Watts riots were local, and those locals at least suffered afterward from the consequences of their actions.   But most of the rioters and arsonists this time around are being bused in, they don’t live in the communities they destroy.

Can we send the bill to Soros?  In fact here is a great idea!  Lets deduct the living and rebuilding expenses for the real victims of the destruction from the Welfare and IBT accounts of every parasite in the effected cities.  If they have to sell the looted merch to live on…

… works for me.

Airline Pilots Landing At LAX Report “A Guy In Jetpack” Flying Alongside Them

As if 2020 couldn’t get any weirder, airline pilots landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Sunday, August 30th, reported seeing “a guy in a jetpack” flying about 300 yards off their wing while on final approach to the bustling airport. What makes the reports even stranger is that, like a scene out of The Rocketeer, the airliners were descending through 3,000 feet when jetpack guy showed up next to them.

Did they see the Rocketeer salute?

And the important question,  did they see Betty?

Don’t spoil things too soon by telling me that it was probably a “Man wearing a Jetpack” shaped drone.   I want to dream a while.

#BREAKING PBA STATEMENT ON NYPD DISCIPLINARY MATRIX

Image

The New York Police Department announced major changes regarding how it responds to allegations of internal misconduct. The nation’s largest police force is rolling out a new disciplinary system for its officers.

Commissioner Dermot Shea unveiled the overhaul Monday in the form of a 48 page draft penalty matrix.

The project has been in the development since the beginning of this year before the New York City Council passed a law in June requiring its use.

American Digest: A sign.

If we believed in omens….

A lightning bolt crosses the sky as President Trump leaves Air Force One.

Psalm 144

Of David.

1 Praise be to the Lord my Rock,
who trains my hands for war,
my fingers for battle.
2 He is my loving God and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues peoples[a] under me.
3 Lord, what are human beings that you care for them,
mere mortals that you think of them?
4 They are like a breath;
their days are like a fleeting shadow.
5 Part your heavens, Lord, and come down;
touch the mountains, so that they smoke.
6 Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy;
shoot your arrows and rout them.
7 Reach down your hand from on high;
deliver me and rescue me
from the mighty waters,
from the hands of foreigners
8 whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.
9 I will sing a new song to you, my God;
on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
10 to the One who gives victory to kings,
who delivers his servant David.
From the deadly sword 11 deliver me;
rescue me from the hands of foreigners
whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.
12 Then our sons in their youth
will be like well-nurtured plants,
and our daughters will be like pillars
carved to adorn a palace.
13 Our barns will be filled
with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields;
14 our oxen will draw heavy loads.[b]
There will be no breaching of walls,
no going into captivity,
no cry of distress in our streets.
15 Blessed is the people of whom this is true;
blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.
