Someone make a note, in November, vote this arrogant bastard out of office…
Add Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., to the list of people who don’t like the new commercial-skipping function, known as “the Hopper,” on Dish Network’s new DVR. Fox, NBC and CBS are suing Dish Network over the service, which allows subscribers to skip past commercial breaks for entire shows with the touch of one button.
At a Wednesday hearing on video distribution held by the Communications and Technology Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee, Dingell complained that the service will allow potential voters to skip past important commercial messages.
“I’ve got an election coming up, like all my colleagues,” Dingell said, during his questioning of Dish Network Chairman Charlie Ergen. “We all put political ads on the local stations to reach our constituents. The Hopper potentially limits the ability of every member of this subcommittee to reach constituents to help them make up their minds on Election Day.
“Do you understand and appreciate the concerns that the politicians up here on the dais and other politicians everywhere will feel about that, yes or no?” Dingell asked.
What a jackass! Now read a good answer…
“I understand consumers very well,” Ergen said. “I’m not a politician, so I can’t tell you I appreciate their concerns.”
In March, the Congressional Budget Office said the law would cost $1.76 trillion from 2013 to 2022, nearly double the $900 billion Obama quoted in September 2009. That’s only a partial picture. Beginning in 2014, the next 10 years of ObamaCare — through 2023 — will cost more than $2 trillion.
Doug along with other friends have called or left messages today, all expressed anger or exasperation with the Supreme Court decision upholding ObamaCare. Does it help that the court labeled it a Tax instead of a power under the Commerce Act?
If, at the end of this day, the House is unable or unwilling to move to uphold the rule of law against the out of control Obama White House Red Shed, then the truth of Karen Harned‘s option piece on this ruling will be even more true.
A friend, a good man and even a person I respect for his service, said today that they prefer to see everyone “made” to have health insurance because otherwise everyone else has to pay for their treatment at the ER with higher costs.
I say, don’t talk money. Talk liberty. You can always make more money, you can’t have any more liberty.
I’m unclear on how I can be “taxed” on something I don’t buy; something I don’t do. I understand how I can be fined or forced to pay a penalty for failing to do something, but it seems to me that “taxation” is a different kind of pocket picking by the state.
If I earn nothing I pay no income tax. If I buy nothing I pay no sales tax. If I own nothing I pay no property tax. If, however, I do nothing I pay an Obamacare “tax” which is not part of the general pool of tax revenue. So is the new deal that I can be taxed simply for being born in America, just for existing as an American, for just standing around breathing? I guess so.

Hammer, Nail, On the head. Point goes to Vanderleun.
So, it’s a Tax. (Says the Supremes) What am I being Taxed for? Perhaps being healthy and NOT needing to buy insurance is now taxable, such as the tax discovered by many states and municipalities called, “Having a nice view“.
So, can I avoid the tax by ingesting plague germs? Breaking a leg? Voting Democratic? (The last one was a trick question).
As I have been laboring on this post in Washington D.C. a decision has been made…
So, the two things that we now have learned today; Obama has created a wholly new Tax on the American People, and the Chief of law enforcement in The United States of America is the first sitting Cabinet member to be held in contempt.
As my sidebar says, a legion of fools elected this Prince of Fools. Is this going to be enough to wake them up?
And on that note…
Below are two quotes from Chief Justice Roberts on the Supreme Court’s responsibility in handling the health care law.
“We do not consider whether the Act embodies sound policies. That judgment is entrusted to the Nation’s elected leaders.”
“Members of this Court are vested with the authority to interpret the law; we possess neither the expertise nor the prerogative to make policy judgments. Those decisions are entrusted to our Nation’s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”

The writer Dorothy Parker once remarked of a book she read: “This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force.” But while Parker was widely celebrated for her sharp wit — and often blistering pans — a recent study suggests her style of criticism is less common at online retailer Amazon.com (AMZN: 225.61, 5.54, 2.52%) . Out of the top reviews analyzed in 2011 by technology entrepreneur Filip Kesler and Trevor Pinch, a professor at Cornell University’s Department of Science and Technology Studies, more than 80% were positive. One big reason, the study found: 85% of the site’s most prolific reviewers have received free products from publishers, agents, authors and manufacturers. Members of the Amazon Vine program — a select group of the site’s “most trusted” reviewers — do receive free products from participating vendors, according to the site’s terms and conditions. It was founded by co-owners Jacqueline Suzanne and Justin Price after a late-night drunken search for ice cream yielded no results because all the shops were closed. The idea for a late-night ice cream shop evolved into an eye-catching food truck that gives customers a little extra bang for their buck.
We’re not sure what their slogan is, but it sounds like it should be, “Come for the ice cream, stay for the show.”
The mobile shop is equipped with flat screen TV’s, bombshell servers, and even stripper poles on the roof to give consumers a show while they cool down with ice cream flavors including Chocolate 3Sum and Aphrodisiac Orgy.
I do not believe that this is a real business, but we can dream!
Morsi promised Islamic Lawi n Egypt during his campaign. And No Stripper Ice Cream Trucks!
Egyptian secular leaders blasted the Obama administration’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood this weekend.
If the Egyptian secular leaders are surprised by the O’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood, they haven’t been paying attention.
Joe Biden: Clown Prince.
“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’ The answer is yes, that’s what I’m telling you.” — Joe Biden, Vice President. When this is how the Vice President of the United States thinks, is it any wonder that this country may only be a decade away from defaulting on our debts and heading into an economic death spiral that we’ll never recover from in the lifespan of anyone reading this column?
If the money you are talking about spending isn’t your money, if spending that money will gain you more political support, even if every dime is wasted, then by all means spend that money. Every last cent.
But if it’s your money he talking about spending, and it is, don’t vote for these people!
Hillary Clinton: Amazingly, the best of the lot.
“There’s a different leader in Syria now. Many of the members of Congress of both parties who have gone to Syria in recent months have said they believe he’s a reformer.” — Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State. Yes, the butcher of Syria is a real “reformer,” isn’t he? If you want to know why our foreign policy has been all bowing, “leading from behind,” and chaos, look no further than our Secretary of State who knew nothing about foreign policy going in, but made a career out of being married to the right man.
I have a suspicion that Hillary may hate BHO more than I do. I think she does have limits on how far down the road to socialism she thinks America should go. Which is, farther than I, less than Barry.
Thank You Sippy, today I needed that

I love Pravda, they always have a interesting slant…

A political deal will be struck to save the Democrat Party from total collapse and protect the Republican Party from revelations of complicity in the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people.
A growing number of Americans are now learning that Barack Obama, according to Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of the U. S. Constitution, is an illegal President. The law requires a candidate for the Presidency to be a “natural born citizen,” that is, a second generation American, a U.S. citizen, whose parents were also U.S. citizens at the time of the candidate’s birth….
Pravda is the Russian newspaper that has been around since Lenin.
