I knew that.

Why is this a surprise?

These people have never made a secret of their intentions, goals or method by which they work towards their domination of the world.

Hitler lied, “I have no more territorial ambitions in Europe…”.   Ask a Muslim and he’s tell you that in his eyes anywhere Islam has been or can be is Muslim territory, forever.   Why?  Because that’s his religion.   Born of a desert raiding, slave trading psychotic with an imaginary friend.  Did I leave out pedophile?

Don’t tell Barry.

It’s that time of year.

Ahoy! It’s Talk Like a Pirate Day

This year it falls on September 18th, Friday.

Every day I have the “Talk like a Pirate” minute.   I bring up the morning news on the PC, start reading and… “Arggh!”.

Moscow calling

CS1Is the desultory war on ISIS based on distorted intelligence?

Yesterday ABC News reported that the Pentagon has confirmed “it is investigating allegations that U.S. Central Command’s intelligence assessments of the progress of the war on ISIS was distorted to provide a more optimistic picture.”

The most important story that IS NOT being covered by the media this week.

Old joke.  The world’s greatest magician is driving to Las Vegas with his girlfriend.
Then a front tire blows out and he stops the car.  After getting out and checking the trunk to find that there isn’t a spare tire he is sitting by the side of the road looking glumly at the flat tire when his girlfriend impatiently told him, ‘Well! Why don’t you make a magical gesture and fix the tire?’.
He looked and her for a moment and said in response, “I could hypnotize you to believe the tire is fixed. And I could even hypnotize myself to believe the tire is fixed.  But how do I hypnotize the tire to believe it’s fixed?”.

Barack Obama is in that position.  He can convince his followers and the media that ISIS is ‘Junior Varsity’ and is under control, he can even convince the Congress to believe that he has ISIS is under control (actually that part is easy, those people don’t really care one way or another).   But how does he convince ISIS that he has them under control and is defeating them?

He is reaping the fruits of all the previous years of his administration (of his life really).  The military he has molded by purging anyone who didn’t fall into line with the deep, destructive changes.  (On the plus side there are the cute caps he wants for the Marine Corp)   The legacy he leaves will be set hard and fast by what left on the ground.  Not just in the Middle East, but in the loss of American prestige and influence in Europe and Asia.  Even Saudi Arabia is at the point that they prefer to form their new alliances with Israel, and Israel with them.

I think the question of where the Barack Obama Presidential Library is placed should be settled…  Moscow.  Not Moscow North Dakota, the Moscow in the Russian Federation.

Another Heretic heard from…(scrubbed)

Subject: Re: What happened to your web page?

So glad that you are still fighting Frank. Glad that your brain is not quiet.

When I was in Engineering school in the 80s, I turned in a term paper on the industrial revolution, the atmospheric CO2 increases along with calculations of expected increase of temperature. The paper met with much criticism of that department.  A friend chose to predict stratospheric ozone and uv Ray calculations. His received much less criticism.

Neither of us approached our problems as rigorously as today’s calculations. But his calculations would have a very thin ozone Field and mine would have us just 2 degrees C warmer.

It us a struggle to go against the establishment. Glad that you have the youthful energy to challenge it. Miss you.

Subject: FW: What happened to your web page?

I have forwarded the email below to all of you AFTER I sent it to the EPA, so that the more conspiracy-minded among you need not be concerned that any retaliatory measures that might be taken against me might also fall upon any of you as my colleagues in crime (i.e., rational scientific thought).  But, I assure you that there will be no retaliation.  Just the plaintive chorus of chirping crickets in the background as the darkness falls on Western Civilization.

I have also cc’ed this email to some old colleagues of mine at ATSDR, to remind them that I am not dead, just retired.  To them, I send the following briefest of updates on my intellectual activities:

Upon retirement, I had planned to write a book about the real facts of environmental toxicology to disavow the reading public of all the nonsense that their government and environmental activists had fed them for decades for the sole purpose of “keeping the fear alive”.  But, I would have had nothing to say that innumerable scientists before me had not already said in their own books, and all of those had been systematically ignored (or worse), anyway, by everyone who needed them most. The only “plus” that any book I wrote would have was the fact that, as a career government scientist, I could not be casually dismissed as a paid minion of Demon Industry.  On the contrary, I was an “insider” with a juicy “inside” story to tell.  Nevertheless, I have decided against such a project because I am convinced that it, like all of its predecessors, would just be ignored by the people who were most in need of its corrective information.  And, the exercise in futility would only dredge up many painful memories from my 20-year career at ATSDR, memories which I have no interest in reliving.

So, I decided, instead, to explore an entirely new field.  The obvious choice was the “hottest” scientific issue in the world today, i.e., “Anthropogenic Global Warming” (AGW) or “Climate Change”, as it was re-labeled over a dozen years ago, when global warming came to a sudden, inconvenient end.  It didn’t take  long to make myself quite well informed concerning the natural variations of climate that have occurred over the last half billion years, or so.  Not because I am such a quick study, but because those established facts are so well-documented, uncomplicated, and readily available to anyone who is more interested in real science than they are in public relations campaigns.  But, once I understood the ABCs of paleoclimatology and the physical chemistry of carbon dioxide, I became all the more perplexed as to how the U.N.’s International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) could have arrived at conclusions that were so utterly devoid  of any valid scientific basis, and why so many politicians, federal agencies, scientific organizations, and the media were all so earnestly devoted to this comic book version of climatology.

Having read over two dozen books on this, and related topics, I am now satisfied that I understand sufficiently both the Science of climate change AND the Politics of AGW hysteria.  Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it was (in the words of the immortal Yogi Berra) “deja vue all over again”.  For, the very same techniques that had been  used for decades so successfully by ATSDR, EPA, and environmental activists  to “keep the fear alive” with respect to harmless traces of chemicals in the dirt and other environmental media had been used with equal success to persuade the public that the sky was falling, yet again.  This time, however, the ”threat” was coming, not from unwanted traces of chemical contaminants in air, water, food, and soil,  but from the essential basis of all life on Earth, carbon dioxide, which EPA has now officially classified as a dangerous air pollutant.  Makes you proud, don’t it?

So ends my “briefest of updates”.  If any of you would like to learn more about the greatest, and potentially most dangerous, scientific fraud in human history, just call me at my home phone or invite me out to lunch, sometime.  My treat.  I know you government workers don’t get paid nearly enough to compensate you for the aggravation of going along with the politically correct scam du jour.  And, for you, retirement is still a long way off, or otherwise out of reach.  Hang in there, though. If you live long enough and don’t have a nervous breakdown, first, it will all have been worth it. It helps to recite to yourself the Serenity Prayer several times a week. (You know. “Grant me the serenity… courage… wisdom…”.) Its value is totally independent of any God concept, making it universally relevant.  Also universally relevant is the popular saying (usually misattributed to the Bible) that “This too shall pass.”  In any case, it is my sincere wish that you all  “Live long and prosper.”

To Jeanne & Jerry:

What happened to your excellent web site entitled “The Ice Age (Pleistocene Epoch)” (formerly at http://www.epa.gov/gmpo/edresources/pleistocene.html).

It truly was a breath of fresh air, insofar as it was one of the few EPA web sites that contained real, useful, scientific facts instead of politically correct propaganda.  And, believe me, as a retired, board-certified, PhD, government toxicologist, myself, I know the difference.  As I assume your administrative superiors do, as well, or else they wouldn’t know which information to suppress.

When one considers the extraordinary  lengths to which the proponents of the global warming/climate change apocalyptic movement are willing to go in order to promote the latter in the minds of an easily frightened public and scientifically challenged politicians,  the legal definition of “fraud” comes to mine.  That definition goes something like this:  FRAUD:   any act, expression, omission, or concealment calculated to deceive another to his or her disadvantage specif : a misrepresentation or concealment with reference to some fact material to a transaction that is made with knowledge of its falsity or in reckless disregard of its truth or falsity and with the intent to deceive another and that is reasonably relied on by the other who is injured thereby.  In other words, any lie, or cynical misrepresentation of the facts designed to “fleece” its trusting victims.  Think about it.

Zombie Hogs, nothing new.

Zombie Servers: They’re Here and Doing Nothing but Burning Energy

By one estimate, 10 million zombie servers world-wide use up power roughly equal in total to eight large power plants

(paywall alert!)

There are zombies lurking in data centers around the world.

They’re servers—millions of them, by one estimate—sucking up lots of power while doing nothing. It is a lurking environmental problem that doesn’t get much discussion outside of the close-knit community of data-center operators and server-room geeks.

The problem is openly acknowledged by many who have spent time in a data center: Most companies are far better at getting servers up and running than they are at figuring out when to pull the plug, says Paul Nally, principal of his own consulting company, Bruscar Technologies LLC, and a data-center operations executive with experience in the financial-services industry. “Things that should be turned off over time are not,” he says. “And unfortunately the longer they linger there, the worse the problem becomes.”

Nothing new.  Everything that gets purchased, installed and asset tagged that draws power will continue to draw power for years, sometimes long after it’s work is done.  Transformers that are hard to get to, so remain plugged in after the device they powered is long gone. These are doubly Zombies, all transformers that remained plugged in after the device is turned off will draw significant power;

No-load losses are caused by the magnetizing current needed to energize the core of the transformer, and do not vary according to the loading on the transformer. They are constant and occur 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, regardless of the load, hence the term no-load losses.

Not-sexy: no-load losses, Sexy: Zombie power!

So, computer servers still plugged in after their work is done, no big deal.  Computers and ancillary systems plugged in and powered up years after their project and the personal who ran it are gone are understandable.   But systems (servers, communications and network routers plus adapters including terminals) still chugging along that NEVER were put into service.  That’s the real deal.  On a system that was in service, often the last guy out the door will kill the power or at least ask; “Do you want this off?”   But for a system that never got put into production… and yes I’ve seen it.

I came in to the world headquarters for a major American bank as the new engineer.   As I began to explore the system and documented the equipment (something neither management or the customer  had ever thought to ask) I discovered an entire VoIP server and interface rack including separate battery backup.  I had to trace the addresses, translate the routing and look for steering codes to enable the system to receive traffic before I realized that the entire 60 cubic foot installation, drawing a constant 15 amps, was inactive.   Doing nothing.  I did some research and found out that the entire thing was a demonstration project to sell the Nortel version of VoIP to one of the worlds largest banking networks.  The bank executive that OK’d it left and at the banks executive level and at Nortel the whole thing was shelved.  But no one ever asked or requested that the equipment be shut off.   There was also a closet full of brand-new and advanced VoIP phone terminals, thirty of them if I remember correctly.   The whole thing probably cost half a million.  Then there is the power cost for the Five Years the thing was left in place doing nothing.

Knowing how the bank operated (committees based on the same design as the one that designed the mouse and came up with an elephant), I didn’t ask permission.   I just switched it all off and disabled the alarms that would have raised ten levels of hell.

It happens.  In fact, about twenty years before that, I was installing a new phone system into a Cambridge company when I entered the attic above the offices, in winter, and was surprised at how warm it was.  I heard some clicking and blinking lights.  After a moment I realized I was looking at a old New England Telephone Company system (all electro-mechanical and wired logic).  The wall next to the 4×5 machine was old style wiring blocks using fifty and hundred pair copper cables.  Everything was dusty, dirty really.  The 20th century version of Dracula’s tomb. It was not the system we had replaced.  It was the system that that system had replaced, probably ten or fifteen years ago.   It too had never been turned off.  Luckily, before the War on Carbon, electricity didn’t cost that much.

No, I didn’t turn it off.  Not my job man!

Interesting, but is anyone going to do anything about it?

Cooking the Intelligence on ISIS

The Beast (no conservative Koch brothers mouthpiece) is reporting that some 50 intelligence analysts working at the military’s Central Command claim their reports on ISIS are being doctored to fit the Obama party line that we’re winning the fight against ISIS, when we’re not.

My level of surprise on this at about Six (on the Obama Administration sliding scale).  I expected more of the editing out bad words, the rosy re-write (with a pen made from the tip of a Unicorn horn) surprised me a bit.  Not saying can be covered over or excused, but creating fictional reports, or lying as most people would call it,  is gonna come out.

But the same way that a bad little boy will terrorize the room and behave badly when the teacher in the classroom is a bored, disinterested temp who is simply waiting for the bell, so Barack Obama is free to misbehave because the United States Congress squabbles, and waits for the next recess so they can spend full time fund raising.  (modern Polonius: “Son, neither a Republican or a Democrat be...”)

So throw this on the pile of impeachable offenses that no one is acting on.

Of course, we don’t know if these analysts aren’t all just disgruntled employees looking for some attention; but 50 of them? Certainly the fact that the case has come to the attention of the IG means someone in the Pentagon is taking it very seriously.
So here’s what Congress needs to do. It needs to call for an immediate investigation of whether the Obama administration has manipulated and cherry-picked intelligence regarding ISIS in order to cover up a failed policy in Iraq and Syria, and to avoid having to take responsibility for allowing ISIS—Obama’s “junior varsity” terrorists—to take root and grow into the most serious threat to stability in the Middle East since Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait.

Emphasis added.  Frankly if (to this day) Congress has done nothing about Benghazi when American lives were lost by the Obama Administration then I have no expectation that anything will be done about this.   But if one American life is lost as a direct result of this criminal doctoring of the intelligence reports then Barack Hussein Obama is a murderer and should be punished as he deserves.

Ashley Madison Was the Greatest Scam Ever

The Weekly Standard reports:

The site claimed 37 million users, which, if true, would be an enormous percentage of America’s married population. (That would be roughly half of all married people between the ages of 25 and 55. (Which sounded incredibly implausible.)

And now we know that Ashley Madison’s claims were implausible. An investigation of the site’s user database found that there were 31 million profiles for men. However, only 20 million male “users” ever bothered to check their Ashley Madison message box even once, and only 11 million male users ever engaged the website’s chat function, even once. A lot of people clearly just signed up out of curiosity.

The database also shows that there were 5.5 million women on Ashley Madison-but when reporter Annalee Newitz drilled down into their user profiles, an astonishing number of these women appear to be fakes-that is, dummy accounts created by the Ashley Madison staff to make it look like there was a pool of women looking for action. And by “astonishing,” I mean that it looks like the number of real, live women using the site was somewhere between 1,500 and 10,000.

Ant hive.  Many, many brainless drones swarming around a few queens.  That’s America in the twenty-first century.

The only good advice my father ever gave me, “Don’t fall though the head of your dick!’.

Losing the war of ideas

Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez shot his victims down in cold blood because he was a jihadist. He wrote of his devotion to the Islamic war for global domination on his blog. He downloaded messages from Anwar Awlaki, the American al-Qaida commander killed in a drone attack in Yemen in 2011.

Awlaki’s most prolific follower to date was US Army Major Nidal Malik Hassan who massacred 13 soldiers and wounded 32 in his November 2009 assault at Ft. Hood, Texas. Yet, just as the Obama administration denies to this day that Hassan operated out of devotion to the cause of Islamic global supremacy through genocidal war, so Carter pretended away Abdulazeez’s obvious motive. And Biden stood before those whose lives were shattered by jihad last month and told them that jihad was not a threat to their way of life.

Ideas are the most powerful human force. And the idea of jihad that the Obama administration will not discuss is perhaps the most powerful idea in the world’s marketplace of ideas today.

I agree, if we don’t fight we die or accept the chains of slavery.   This should not be a decision that any President makes on any people’s behalf.  From abandoning the damaged lands,  such as Iraq, to destabilizing Libya; this Presidents actions have been a litany of empowerment of radical Islam.  Really, which of his actions in office would you change if you were an Iranian?

But in this country under his administration the worst behavior has been the repression of any criticism of our enemy’s ideology, which is Jihad-ism and the blind eye to it’s danger within this country (with an increasing tempo of deadly attacks clearly related to radical Islam) and the deaf ear internationally to cries of pain, torture and murder.

There is no doubt in my mind that one morning I will wake up and put on the news to see an Iranian bomb has been detonated here.  Where and when is the only question; if it’s Washington DC I’m not sure we could necessarily count that as a hostile act.
