Dim Sun in 15 Years: Maunder Minimum Near-Perfect Accuracy

While America’s coal industry is dying an excruciating death, leaving “tens of thousands of coal mine and power plant workers without a job” due to Obama’s “billions of dollars in regulatory costs,” much of the world is gearing up for a dramatic rise in coal production. The irony! or The irony? In the UK, where most of the mischief of global warming has originated, a scientist predicts, with what is “said to have near-perfect accuracy,” that our sun is cooling –– already sleepy. It’s called a “solar minimum,” or the “Maunder Minimum.”

The sun will go into “hibernation” mode around 2030, and it has already started to get sleepy. At the Royal Astronomical Society’s annual meeting in July, Professor Valentina Zharkova of Northumbria University in the UK confirmed it – the sun will begin its Maunder Minimum (Grand Solar Minimum) in 15 years. Other scientists had suggested years ago that this change was imminent, but Zharkova’s model is said to have near-perfect accuracy.
