MY DOGS
This morning I went to sign my dogs up for welfare. The lady said, “Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare,” so I explained to her that my dogs are mixed in color, unemployed, lazy, can’t speak English, and have no frigging clue who their daddies are. They expect me to provide them with food, housing, and medical care. The lady then looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify. My dogs get their first checks Friday.

Dang, this is a great country!

I have no idea how this works, because I have never been very good at these optical illusion tricks, but if you stare at the image long enough, you should be able to see a mask and a pair of blue flippers.

Stupid In America

“Because K-12 education is a government monopoly and monopolies don’t improve.”

John Stossel hits the nail on the head, Teacher Unions are only the tip of the iceberg.

Massachusetts home sales soar

“It’s a comeback,” Case said. “There are reasons to be optimistic because baby boomers with lots of home equity are trading down and buying smaller homes at low prices and low interest rates.”

The volume of house sales is what is rising, the prices are still low and not increasing. But when the glut of unsold properties has been reduced, then, maybe.

The end of a hell of a week for Obama

LIGHTSQUARED: The Next Obama Pay-For-Play Morass? “The Obama FCC took the lead in intervening on the donor, billionaire hedge fund manster Philip Falcone’s, behalf and granting his company called ‘LightSquared’ one of those coveted Obama waivers from existing law. Then Obama officials reportedly pressured a general to alter his testimony about the company’s impact on military satellite transmissions.”

LightSquared: Another Solyndra?

Its what community organizers do.

excerpt: For years within the telecom industry there have been persistent complaints that LightSquared majority owner Philip Falcone’s political connections with the White House and the Federal Communications Commission have led to political and regulatory favoritism for his company. Falcone is a hedge fund investor who made a fortune shorting subprime debt.

There are no poor people in America.

He’s right. After a year of unemployment I’m poorer than I was,…slightly. I’m rich compared to 99% of the people in the world.

Living Miserably

From Investors Business Daily, exactly the type of news that the TV and the Newspapers should be reporting, but don’t. Read this story then watch the news tonight, then think about what you didn’t see.

From American Digest:

Excalibur-sword-in-the-stone.jpg

Year upon year in this world’s forest dark,
Heaped at the foot of the trees,
The tangles and bundles of dead brush increase
Which sunlight shall never seize.

The vampire by sunlight or stake.
The wolfman by silver in bone.
The demon by book, chant and pentagram.
The fascist by fire alone.

The ash that descends in the clearest of skies?
The leapers that swam down the stones?
Best answered by bombs from mid-heaven at prayer
With the fire that hollows the bones.

The vampire by sunlight or stake.
The wolfman by silver in bone.
The demon by book, chant and pentagram.
The fascist by fire alone.

If their god decrees war, God’s war shall prevail.
His lessons are seared in the stone.
No dreams shall defer, nor wishes erase,
The answer that’s burned in the bone.

The vampire by sunlight or stake.
The wolfman by silver in bone.
The demon by book, chant and pentagram.
The fascist by fire alone.

Only by fire is fascism finished.
This sin is demanded that your line may live.
Only through fire is freedom reborn.
Each generation pulls the sword from the stone.

Report: ‘Romneycare’ a jobs killer

He owns it and still thinks it was a good idea, if Deval Patrick is “Obama Lite” then Romney is “Obama White”.

Boston Scientific CEO: Medical tax will mean job cuts

“We’re not going to get drawn into a game where somebody starts calling it a test of patriotism, where you move jobs outside the country or cut jobs when a tax is being put in place that taxes innovation,” he said. “It’s not our job to run the country. Our job’s to run this business and produce for shareholders.” -Elliot.

Go Galt.

The 2013 Tax Cliff

Temporary tax cuts, permanent new tax increases. Get the picture?

Obama proposal would cut the value of the charitable tax break by about 20 percent

Good idea to find out what he means when he says he’s going to tax the rich If Obama cuts tax breaks of charitable giving by the wealthy then they give less. If the simple method of claiming a deduction for charitable giving is removed but replaced with another complicated Federal form and reduced tax benefit how many wealthy donors will opt out.

Even Republicans Rejected Info About Obama’s Past

Was it because they thought that the story would be rejected as “negative campaigning”?

Obama approval rating falls after jobs speech

Ha, Ha, Ha!

Some observations on the Tea Party/CNN debate

“…but I have noted over the years that Texas seems more friendly—in personal demeanor and in public policy—to immigrants, illegal and legal, than such supposedly more tolerant states as California. My observation is that liberal Californians tend to regard Latinos as valet parkers, assistant gardeners and construction laborers, while Texans of all political stripes—the many conservatives as well as the relatively few liberals–regard Latinos as Texans.”

Interesting point, I wonder if it’s true.

Despite Social Security, older voters like Perry

If that’s the response, then Rommey is making a mistake attacking Perry on SS.

I think Rommey’s decision to stick by Rommeycare will be the stone that sinks his campaign, I certainly don’t want him if he hasn’t learned his lesson that the program is a failure that most Americans don’t want repeated.

Stop Calling the Tea Party Extreme. It Isn’t.

Me, I’m extreme. The Tea Party not so much. Taxed Enough Already.

September 12th, 1683.

On this day in 1683

From Gates of Vienna:

On this day in 1683 King Jan Sobieski of Poland arrived at Vienna to break the siege of the Turks and rescue the Christian West from the Hosts of Mohammed. The rout of the Ottoman troops before the gates of Vienna by the Polish hussars gave us a little breathing room, a coffee-and-croissants break that lasted for the next three hundred and eighteen years.

The Battle of Vienna in which King Sobieski defeated the 100,000-man army of “Islamic hordes” under Kara Mustafa Pasha was one day after the arrival of the Polish army with their winged hussars – Sept. 12. The western expansion of the Caliphate ended there, but the push back took many years.

Trip to Nelson Memorial Park in Plymouth: Part One

Plymouth is a tourist town. That’s the business of the downtown and visitors come from all over the  world. A few years ago, Plymouth decided to turn over management of the parking in downtown to a private company. Unfortunately they picked the same nincompoops that run the parking for the MBTA. Anyone who has stuffed their money into one of the stupid slots of the pay-in-advance boards at the T parking lots only to get a ticket knows what that means. I, for one, stopped going to Plymouth. Good-bye Lobster Hut!

Imagine my surprise to find a new waterfront park with free parking half a mile from Plymouth downtown. The park has grass (the green kind you walk on), a kiddie water park, bathrooms and a snack bar. The forty-eight parking spaces can go fast on a nice day when the moms bring their little ones, but come in the morning or late afternoon and there should be a place available.

911 on 9-11

Did it give you a jolt to look down at your watch and see the 9-11? Its been ten years, so much has been done but so much is left to do.

Why is there still a hole in the ground at ground zero?

Why do liberals refuse to acknowledge that radical Islam is the only enemy?

Why do we let Iran continue to build a threat that must removed and becomes more dangerous as we delay?

Putting Barack Hussein Obama in the White House seems to me the same as it must have felt to the Japanese when we put General McArthur in to rule Japan. When did we lose the war?

These cartoons are gathered from the net today.

..and some I’ve been saving.
