DEVASTATING: Andrew Breitbart, R.I.P.

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 1, 2012 09:21 AM

March is the cruelest month.

R.I.P.

On The North River

In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

by Larry Solov

With a terrible feeling of pain and loss we announce the passing of Andrew Breitbart.

Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.

We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.

Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.

Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:

I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.

Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.

Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us.

Building customer loyalty, one brick at a time.

Tesla Motors’ Devastating Design Problem

The Story:

Tesla Motors’ lineup of all-electric vehicles —… apparently suffer from a severe limitation that can largely destroy the value of the vehicle. If the battery is ever totally discharged, the owner is left with what Tesla describes as a “brick“: a completely immobile vehicle that cannot be started or even pushed down the street. The only known remedy is for the owner to pay Tesla approximately $40,000 to replace the entire battery. Unlike practically every other modern car problem, neither Tesla’s warranty nor typical car insurance policies provide any protection from this major financial loss.

My response: Sucker!

Wait! I just remembered, Tesla got  huge government financing and all Tesla owners get almost $10K in tax rebates!!  Why that means…I’m getting screwed!!!!

Chu to Congress: We’re not interested in lowering gas prices

Chu specifically cited a reported breakthrough announced Monday by Envia Systems, which received funding from DOE’s ARPA-E, that could help slash the price of electric vehicle batteries.

Is there even ONE electric vehicle in the White House Red Shed’s fleet? Or are they reserved for the suckers?

Chu Lets the Cat Out of the Bag

Barack Obama came into office as an anti-petroleum crusader. He made no bones about the fact that he wanted gas prices to rise; likewise, his Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu, explained that he wanted U.S. gas prices to rise to European levels. In those days, global warming alarmists were riding high, and the Obama administration accepted the idea that to prevent climate change, it should suppress production of domestic oil and gas, thereby raising the price of fossil fuel energy (gasoline, jet fuel, heating oil, coal-fired electricity, etc.) so that Americans would not be able to afford as much of it. This was, of course, a strategy for impoverishing the American people, but in those heady times, the administration considered that a minor inconvenience if not a positive virtue.

In case you didn’t get the point yet.

Cruise Line business lost at sea, FBI=Keystone Cops, Ann Coulter please don’t hurt me.

Ship from Costa Concordia company adrift after fire at sea

A cruise ship belonging to same company as Costa Concordia with more than 1,000 passengers and crew on board is adrift in the Indian Ocean after a fire broke out in its electrical room.

AGAIN?

Update:

The 1,000 passengers and crew on the crippled Costa Allegra cruise ship face an uncomfortable three day journey without hot food, lights or air-conditioning after a plan to disembark them at a nearby luxury island resort was scrapped on Tuesday.

Tow, Tow, Tow your boat. Merrily on the Sea.

A single french fishing boat is attempting the tow, until tugs can arrive.

Costa Cruises official Giorgio Moretti says an armed nine-member Italian military team on anti-pirate duty is aboard the Costa Allegra.

FBI Turns Off Thousands of GPS Devices After Supreme Court Ruling

Mr. Weissmann, speaking at a University of San Francisco conference called “Big Brother in the 21st Century” on Friday, said that the court ruling prompted the FBI to turn off about 3,000 GPS tracking devices that were in use.

The FBI was tracking that many individuals without any warrants, not funny.

After the ruling, the FBI had a problem collecting the devices that it had turned off, Mr. Weissmann said. In some cases, he said, the FBI sought court orders to obtain permission to turn the devices on briefly – only in order to locate and retrieve them

Now, That’s Funny!

Romney is the anti-establishment candidate

By

…We’re being asked to hand Obama another four years in the White House in order to “send a message.” To whom? And what message? That we’re morons? Message received!

Meanwhile, Romney cheerfully campaigns on, the biggest outsider and most conservative candidate we’ve run for president since Reagan, while being denounced by the establishment as “too establishment.”

Ann Coulter is an author and political commentator.

I don’t know, Ann. It may be true that Romney isn’t a insider, it may be that he’s standing way over there, all outside by himself. Frankly, the truest comment on all the candidates may be that none of them, that NO-ONE is really qualified to be President (no one more so than BHO) But someone has to be.

I’ll say it again, I will vote for anyone whose name appears on the ballot in November if that person is running against Barack Hussein Obama. Because Barry has already proved that he is the most incompetent man to ever hold the office of POTUS.

Lindzen totally pwns the alarmists

Is catastrophic global warming, like Millennium Bug, a mistake?

Professor Richard Lindzen is one of the world’s greatest atmospheric physicists: perhaps the greatest. What he doesn’t know about the science behind climate change probably isn’t worth knowing. But even if you weren’t aware of all this, even if you’d come to the talk he gave in the House of Commons this week without prejudice or expectation, I can pretty much guarantee you would have been blown away by his elegant dismissal of Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming theory.

You can read a full version of his speech here

Cap and Trade taxes and use fees are already being collected in Europe, once these governments get used to receiving and spending that money it will become almost impossible to get rid of them. Unless we get rid of the politicians that have been corrupted. Continue reading

33 years of war.

The Iranian Countdown

By Alan Caruba

How many times does Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and its president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have to publicly and loudly say that they intend to “wipe Israel off the map” and otherwise annihilate its Jewish population before the world takes seriously the murderous intent of Iran?…

In late February Ayatollah Khamenei, at meeting with Iran’s nuclear scientists, said “Pressures, sanctions, and assassinations will bear no fruit. No obstacles can stop Iran’s nuclear work.”

The widow of one assassinated nuclear scientist, Mostafa Ahmadi Rochan Behdast, was quoted in the Iranian Fars News Agency article saying, “Mostafa’s ultimate goal was the annihilation of Israel.”…

Comment: In short, Iran is governed by madman. Their stated intention is to create nuclear weapons and use them. First (we think) on Israel, then the US. Period.

When they get them, they will use them. The first target is going to be Israel and the next will be the United States of America, the Little Satan and the Great Satan, and time is running out….

Read the whole thing.

We are at war with Iran, we have been at war with Iran since 1979 when they committed a act of war against the USA that has never been dealt with. We have ignored this problem until its almost too late. Once they have working nuclear weapons they will use them, its only surmise that Israel will be the first target. If I were them I’d think about slipping a device into New York City in one of the thousands of UN-inspected shipping containers that arrive every month. Then tell us it’s there and list their demands.

After Barry wets himself… then destroy Israel.   It will happen, nothing will prevent it except the destruction of the Iranian State. It didn’t have to come to this, but now nothing less is going to work.

Review: Act of Valor or It is easier to teach a SEAL to be an actor than to teach an actor to be a SEAL

LFM Reviews Act of Valor

“In Valor There is Hope.”

Not “Hope” for a government handout.

Valor is not a word that the left uses, its hard to corrupt and distort its true meaning.

Definition of VALOR

: strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness : personal bravery

So would it surprise anyone (who enjoys reading this blog) that the Media, the newspaper critics, the entertainment reporters i.e. the talking heads, don’t like this movie at all. A writer for The Huffington Post calls it “propaganda”.  Now its true that the film was commissioned by the Navy’s Special Warfare Command and its success will be measured not in box-office receipts, but in the number of new recruits it attracts to the Navy SEALs.

[God-damn, if I wasn’t 62 years old, with lifelong bad eyesight and a bad back, I’d try to enlist!]

One of the interesting things about this movie is the repeated comment I’ve read that the Navy considers the 80’s movie “Navy Seal” an embarrassment. And not the sort of film that would attract the type of recruit that they are looking for.

The type of man that they want, are the type of men that are in this film. It is very much against character and tradition for SEALS to be identified as such and even less to publicly play the role. For the SEALs, the decision meant potentially risking “ridicule for the rest of their careers for stepping outside the community,” Mr. McCoy says.

After they made a group decision to participate, deciding the project served the SEALs’ greater good, the Navy made the film a formal task for the sailors, who were between deployments. Their names won’t appear in the “Act of Valor” credits; instead, the film will list Naval Special Warfare members killed since Sept. 11. WSJ article.

Those names appeared at the end of the movie, during the credits. I counted the names. There were at least sixty. That  probably didn’t include the recent loss of over twenty SEALS after the Bin Loudin raid.  After the almost two hour movie I seriously needed to visit the Men’s room. But I figured I needed to wait until the last name had scrolled past.

Here’s a thought, for their “tramp stamp” instead of hieroglyphs (that probably really decipher to “Eat at Joes”), how about if our young (nubile) ladies tattoo the names of such honored dead above their backside instead? (Free mustache rides for life from Moi for all participants)

My point is, someone has decided that any and all Hollywood movies made in the last forty years have to weaken the depiction of the American soldier. Every movie has to show a flawed or weak American soldier. Not in this movie; There are no corrupt officers, no damaged heroes, no queasy doubts about the value of the mission or the virtue of the cause.

The American Soldier, you can have no better friend and no worse enemy.

This post is dedicated to my friend Doug, I only wish I could have served along-side you my friend.

Dummkopf’s!

State seeks ‘outrageous’ vending fee hike

The ultimate small business model, the vending machine operator. The man or woman that hauls the machines around; some are big and some are small, they must decide where the machines might make money, they must negotiate a deal with the owner of the location, they clean the machines and restock them. Repair when necessary and replace when vandalized or lost in a fire.

My grandfather had a vending machine business on the side, I remember helping him clean the peanut and cashew residue and salt out of the works.  My small fingers (started assisting at about five years old) could stuff the coins into the paper bank wrappers better than he could. In the hall closet were big bags of nuts and colorful round balls of gum. (Guess how I got paid?) It was of the many small businesses that he operated to increase his income during the Depression and that he continued up to retirement. Did pretty well, he retired to Cape Cod with two mortgage free houses, a new Chevy and a fat bank account. Did I mention that he also took bets?

Today, forget it. The state wants it’s cut, but it also wants demands records, taxes, fees, licenses, etc. etc…

Then theres the towns, today they get into the act, you can’t put them here, you can’t put them there. (We think one mile from any school would be about right) Don’t paint them with bright colors, chain them to the walls in case when someone tries to break into them they don’t tip over and hurt the thief. HEY, what are you going to do about the trash from the wrappers?!!

Now on top of all that, the state is increasing the Vending Machine License Fee 600% on each machine.  Plus, the Congress of the United States (and the land of the free) is going to demand that vending machine owners find a way to present the nutritional values and calories of the Twinkees and bubble gum before the customer buys it. All of this comes out of the (slim) profit that the Vendor gets from his machines.

I know what Gramp would say,”Dummkopf’s, Piss on ’em.

Many lying Dems, Palin’s real game change, Going Biblical, Subsidies and Sausage.

Gun ownership ‘very difficult’ despite Supreme Court rulings

D.C. Councilman Phil Mendelson says the District is in compliance with the Supreme Court’s ruling, but acknowledges that the process can be complicated.

He is introducing legislation aimed at streamlining some of the requirements and fees, but notes that Washington will always have restrictive gun laws.

“This is the nation’s capital, and we have a higher public safety burden than any other city in this country,” Mendelson said.

I’m quite sure there was a superior Liberal smile on his face when he said it (Oh, you know what I’m talking about, you have all seen it).  So let me see if I’ve got this straight, The Supreme Court rules on what is the law of the land, but D.C. is in a different land? Somehow?

Same problem in Chicago, a long and expensive process to go through. Even for the man that went all the way to the Supreme Court and won his case. Two years later and he’s still without the necessary permit to protect his family in a increasingly violent city.

Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association, thinks many gun control advocates are thumbing their noses at the Supreme Court.

I do believe he’s right. So what are we going to do about it?  When you win in court and nothing changes, its not a legal problem anymore. Its a political problem. After that its …what?

Lets head down to the pub and talk a little revolution.

The Truth HBO’s ‘Game Change’ Hides: Palin Carried McCain Until He Changed the Game

…After the election, when the Republican establishment began to self-destruct, Palin rallied the conservative base yet again. She became an important voice in the burgeoning Tea Party movement. She helped lead Republicans to the greatest congressional victory in several generations. Her success stopped the Obama agenda dead in its tracks. That’s a real “game change” worthy of a film – and the story’s still being written.

Amen.

Kansas GOP House Speaker ‘Prays’ That Obama’s ’Children Be Fatherless And His Wife A Widow.‘”

This is the title of an article from the partisan left-wing website called thinkprogress.org.  Convincing, right?  Well, if you don’t do your own research, you will end up like the thousands of individuals who fell for the spin this website and many others have put on this story…

If not the truth, this is at least in the same country as the truth. Kansas House Speaker Mike O’Neal forwarded an email to his colleagues quoting the Bible passage Psalms 109:8, which reads, “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.”

Most people have interrupted the words used as intended by the Speaker to the (private) recipient, That (Obama) be out of office, in other words denied re-election, and another candidate be chosen as an new President.

However, the bibical lines following that passage (which were not part of the email sent by the Speaker) do go a little fire and brimstone, all smitety on his ass; “Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.”  Wow, pretty harsh! If he had said that, which. he. didn’t!!!

The article’s author, obviously a red neck hater…   Or not.

Anyway, the young lady points out its not as if anyone wrote a play detailing the assassination of the president, specifically identifying him by name. Or the death by disease of other conservative notables. (If you don’t remember when that happened during the Bush administration I suggest you look it up.)

As I always say; How can you tell when a liberal is lying? Their lips are moving.

First the Dutch Pull the Plug on Wind Subsidies, Now Germany Throws in Towel on Solar Subsidies

“One of the world’s biggest green-energy public-policy experiments is coming to a bitter end in Germany, with important lessons for policymakers elsewhere.”

From the comments; Paul

“I will not walk away from the promise of clean energy. I will not cede the wind or solar or battery industry to China or Germany because we refuse to make the same commitment here.”
~Barack Obama 2012 SOTU

Our idiot President may end up winning this battle by default.

I couldn’t find words to put it better than that. Thank You Paul.

Is Iran Conflict Increasing Sausage Costs?

Nuremberg’s Bratwurst Dilemma

…Steiner says he heard one supplier raised its prices six times in 2011. He credits the price increases with instability in Iran, fewer sheep being slaughtered in the country, and more competition from places like China, which is stepping up its sausage production.

“There are other countries of origin,” he says, including Turkey and New Zealand. “But traditionally the best sheep’s intestines come from Iran.”

No Bratwurst!! Damn, now they have us by the short hairs!

Tragic reminder

25 million tons of tsunami debris floating toward US shores

The debris is not expected to be radioactive as the tsunami swept most of the debris into the sea before the failure of Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactor

Crew members from the Russian training ship the STS Pallada “spotted the debris 2,000 miles from Japan,” last month after passing the Midway islands, the Mail wrote. “They saw some pieces of furniture, some appliances, anything that can float, and they picked up a fishing boat,” said Hafner. The boat was 20-feet long, and was painted with the word “Fukushima.”  “That’s actually our first confirmed report of tsunami debris,” Hafner told KITV.

Crew on Russian ship STS Pallada spotted the debris almost 2,000 miles from Japan, including a fishing boat…

It is possible there may be human remains of those tsunami victims swept out to sea.

Many Coast Guard and West Coast authorities fear that the cleanup costs could be huge.

I think the Silly Season is upon us, just a feeling.

Buffalo Bars Offering Free Boob Job To Contestant Who Collects Most Mardi Gras Beads

Mardis Gras

A group of Buffalo bars is offering free breast augmentation surgery to whomever collects the most beads during Mardi Gras celebrations this year.

The winner of the “Boobs For Beads” promotion– technically open to men and women, although ladies get in free– will receive the free boob job from Dr. Lakshmanan Rajendran, and can opt instead for a tummy tuck, nose job or any other cosmetic surgery similarly priced to the breasts procedure.

“I wanted an attention grabber,” Sean Coughlin, manager of Bayou nightclub, and organizer of the event, told The Buffalo News Monday, adding, “As bad as the promotion sounds, I don’t want it executed in a tacky way.” (How could a free boob job contest possibly be executed in a tacky way?).  ((John: Indeed!))

The contest has drawn criticism from those who say the schtick reinforces poor body image in women.

Sharon Mitchell, director of counseling services for the University at Buffalo, told The News,”I think the overall message is here’s a shortcut to fixing something that’s wrong with you — which may or may not be wrong.””

Although some women on the event’s Facebook wall have commented, “Oh it’s onnnnn!!!!” and “Bigger is better,” at least one woman wrote she’d rather give the money to charity than win a free boob job.

All I can say about the above story is, “God Bless America!”.

Attack of The Food Eroder

Or, “The Ninja Nibbler of the Night”

As a friend of mine recently pointed out, “Women shop. Men resupply.”

read the whole thing at American Digest…

PLAYBOY PARTY JOKE FROM MARCH 2012 ISSUE

In the tough economy, an educated woman was forced to apply for a job in a lemon grove. After the foreman had reviewed her résumé, he frowned and said, “I must ask, do you have any actual experience in picking lemons?”

“As a matter of fact I have,” she answered. “I’ve been divorced three times and I voted for Obama.”

METAPHOR ALERT: No Shovel For Obama. “It was a rather odd sight: as an array of museum officials, including former first lady Laura Bush, took up shovels at the groundbreaking for the first national museum dedicated exclusively to African-American history and culture, the nation’s first black president sat watching, no shovel in hand. . . . Protocol does not seem to have played a role. Turns out, presidents throughout history have wielded shovels for groundbreakings.”

Thank God for DVD’s.

The Oscars.

Well, I scanned the local paper and noticed that they had a poll (on-line) for the best picture of 2011.

I had seen none of the entry’s.

The Nominees:
The Artist   This one I may see, glorious black & white, homage to the silent film era, no Hollywood leftists identified connected to the project.
The Descendants   George Clooney, never have, never will put one dime down on anything that leftist bastard does.
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
I used to have a lot of respect and interest in the films that Tom Hanks was in. Then he went totally off the grid, currently he is behind the Democratic hit job on Sarah Palin that HBO is pushing, “Game Change”.
The Help   My mother went to see this movie with her best friend, she liked it a lot. Me, I’m burnt out, like totally, on the poor suffering blacks in America. They don’t like it here, go back to Africa.
Hugo   I’m indifferent. Might not suck.
Midnight in Paris   Woody Allen is a child raping scumbag.
Moneyball
Sports. Not my thing.
The Tree of Life
Sean Penn. The biggest leftist scumbag in Hollywood, if he was on fire I wouldn’t piss on him.
War Horse
Steve Spielberg is the Director of this movie. After Avatar (A.K.A Dances with Wolves in Space), which I believe is the first movie condemned by the Commandant of the Marine Corp, I’ve scratched any work by this Hollywood leftist from my list.

My poll on the Oscars.
