Unfaithful to the law

Sunday, August 18, 2013

How much longer will Americans have to endure a president who does not believe that he must, as the Constitution requires, “take care that the laws be faithfully executed?”

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ordered the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to resume a review of the proposed Yucca Mountain nuclear waste storage site in Nevada.

Because Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and many residents of Nevada objected to the site on patently “not in my backyard” grounds, President Obama promised in his 2008 campaign to kill it. The commission, however, said he could not withdraw the Bush administration’s application for a license to operate the waste repository.

Supposedly independent, the commission, like similar bodies, has members and a chairman appointed by the president. Any president’s wants are usually accommodated. Obama made a former aide to Reid chairman of the commission, who stopped repository work, and later appointed another chairman of similar views.

Congress has ended funding for repository studies, but the commission has $11 million left over. That, said the two judges of the majority, must be spent as appropriated, even though it is not enough to finish all the once-planned studies. The commission, they said, was “simply flouting the law.”

The parade marches on: No deportations of young illegal immigrants, a delay in the employer mandate in Obamacare, set-aside of Obamacare requirements for members of Congress, appointment of members of the National Labor Relations Board without Senate confirmation, wiretapping reporters in violation of the Justice Department’s own regulations, directing federal prosecutors to omit facts in drug indictments that could trigger heavier sentences.

It will not stop until this official, who remains remarkably unfaithful to the law, leaves
office.

PSA #3 Fake American Express email

Looks righteous doesn’t it?

american-express-0918

The message I received was in that format but on an different topic. It got through my anti-spam filters because it was using a subset of an actual American Express email address that I had once received valid messages concerning Donie’s AE account.

Of course, now that that account has been closed (two years), it could only be spam.

A anti-phishing site provided the example above, Techhelplist.com, and this…

Account Alert: Recent Charge Approved – Malware

Fake American Express email claims you reached the notification amount you set.

Links go to malicious websites through multiple redirects and convolutions.

Spoofs aexp.com in from headers.

So, the lesson learned is to go through your online address book (if that is how you are filtering email messages) and delete the valid addresses of expired accounts.

Obama’s Workplace Violence.

How hero soldier was fatally shot 12 times as he tried to charge down Fort Hood gunman Nidal Hasan and end his deadly rampage

greene

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”

Spc. Frederick Greene was shot 12 times during the attack, Lt. Col. Phillip Berran told the judge after reviewing photos of the soldier’s body before jurors were led into the courtroom at Fort Hood. When asked by a prosecutor if his findings were consistent with Greene ‘charging the shooter,’ the pathologist responded: ‘Yes, it is.’

Unarmed in the name of political correctness.  But in obedience to the Word…

Bible > John > Chapter 15

12“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.13Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.14“You are My friends if you do what I command you.15“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.16“You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.17“This I command you, that you love one another.

Doug: A war between civilization and barbarism.

SemperFi signature

Doug:

Arab Mentality…

From: Dr. Arieh Eldad:

I was instrumental in establishing the Israeli National Skin Bank, which is the largest in the world.

The National Skin Bank stores skin for every day needs as well as for war time or mass casualty situations.

This skin bank is hosted at the Hadassah Ein Kerem University hospital in Jerusalem where I was the Chairman of plastic surgery.

This is how I was asked to supply skin for an Arab woman from Gaza , who was hospitalized in Soroka Hospital in Beersheva, after her family burned her. Usually, such atrocities happen among Arab families when the women are suspected of having an affair.

We supplied all the needed Homografts for her treatment. She was successfully treated by my friend and colleague, Prof. Lior Rosenberg and discharged to return to Gaza . She was invited for regular follow-up visits to the outpatient clinic in Beersheva.

One day she was caught at a border crossing wearing a suicide belt. She meant to explode herself in the outpatient clinic of the hospital where they saved her life. It seems that her family promised her that if she did that, they would forgive her.

This is only one example of the war between Jews and Muslims in the Land of Israel . It is not a territorial conflict. This is a civilizational conflict, or rather a war between civilization & barbarism.

John: Snopes confirms that everything but the last two lines are from Dr. Eldad, these sentences were added by an unknown person.

Bibi Netanyahu gets it. Obama pretends there is no conflict – because there is a possibility that he agrees with radical Islam.

I have never written before asking to please forward onwards, so that as many as possible can understand radical Islam and what awaits the world if it is not stopped.

How many do you have?

It was love at first sight, the moment I saw my first Leatherman I knew I had to have it.

I lost a couple in the house fire, but today I still have six…and I don’t think I’ve bought my last Leatherman.

So? How many do you have?

It’s Not That He’s Liberal, And It’s Certainly Not That He’s Black. It’s That Obama Just Really Sucks At Being President

what me worry

Which brings up the question: What has President Obama gotten right?

I’m not trying to pick a fight. I’m really looking for an answer. You name a politician from Jimmy Carter (eventually got monetary policy right) to Deval Patrick (partial de-regulation of car insurance) and I can name some significant policy or initiative that worked, that made things better or that they at least didn’t screw up.

What does Obama have?  Even if you think the stimulus was the right approach, the lingering suck of the economy shows he either didn’t get it right, or the implementation was a failure.

Obamacare? Sorry, but when the Obama administration has to postpone key elements for a year, and when Obama Democrats beg to be exempt from it, you can’t call that a “win.” Add the falling support, the fiscal fiascos, etc. and ObamaCare is a flop.

Domestic policy? Yikes.  Foreign policy? DOUBLE yikes!

What am I missing? I mean this sincerely: tell me something President Obama has gotten right. Could he be the storm cloud that has NO silver lining?

Please post yours below, or email to Michael@michaelgraham.com. Thanks!

Sorry Michael, I got nothing.

Drive-ins going down.

by Arthur Tilley

America’s drive-in movie theaters are on the brink of extinction. At their peak in the 1950s and ’60s, the country boasted over 4000 of the open-air cinemas. Today, there are 368, and these holdovers from the analog era are in trouble. The problem, as illustrated in this excellent L.A. Times piece, is that most of them still use traditional film projectors. Hollywood, where fortunes were built on celluloid, is getting ready to stop distributing film prints altogether after this year. Digital projection is now the norm.

Unfortunately for drive-in owners, digital projection is also an expensive upgrade, costing anywhere from $60,000 to $85,000. What that means is that after this season, many drive-ins simply won’t reopen, and another chunk of America’s car culture will be lost for good.

The end is in sight…PDA 30 (16)

Remember this post?

And still no thought for the fate of the Church Hall, VFW, etc. that show films for free or fund raisers.

Top quote

In the immediate aftermath of his attack, the U.S. media, following their iron-clad rule that “Allahu akbar” is Arabic for “Nothing to see here,” did their best to pass off Major Hasan as the first known victim of pre-Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder… Glenn Reynolds

Michael Douglas sparked a firestorm claiming that he caught throat cancer by giving oral sex to his wife. It begs two obvious questions.
Is this a sound medical diagnosis… or is Michael Douglas just the latest Democrat to blame everything on Bush?

Rebloged from Maggie’s Farm

An angel visited me

Well, as close to an angel as I have ever identified.

Like most angels, she just looked like an ordinary middle-aged person. Unremarkable, unmemorable.  Angels are simply messengers, aren’t they? They aren’t gods, and they don’t have wings. The wings in angel images are symbols.

Tuesday morning at 10:30 I was sitting in the Maggie’s HQ between meetings and conferences, with all doors and windows open to the soft summer breeze and enjoying a nice Partagas – I’m the boss so I do what I want – when I hear a knock on the open outside door. “Hello.”

“Come on in,” I say. “Pardon my cigar smoke. What can I do for you?”

“Nothing,” she said tentatively. “I’ve never done anything like this before, but I felt had to. Are you (my name)? “Yes, I am. Who are you?” She gave her name to me.

I was pleasant, she was too. She said she hoped I did not mind, but the Lord had asked her twice, in prayer, to pray for me by name and to remind me that God loved me. She had no idea who I was, but googled my name, located me, and walked in my open door on the chance I would be there. Continue reading
