You’re old enough to remember when everybody read Doonesbury, back when we could all laugh at ourselves.
I remember a stripe where Zonk and Mike are in jail and on trial for pot possession and after finding a hidden (police) microphone in the cell the judge cut them free.
No sense of humor now, no sense of honor or respect for the law. This time is sadly familiar to the time in Russia after Lenin got complete control of the nation.
Except we can’t escape to the USA.
