The breaking story on the college bribery and corruption scandal is the funniest story this year. Mostly liberal bigwigs getting caught up in the expose of their hypocrisy.
(Trust me, at these prices no middle-class Joe Blow is going to be doing the pref walk!)
Watching the national news at my girlfriends (never on at my place) the one phrase never uttered, never explored by the Learned Talking Heads, is Affirmative Action. But that’s the real cause of this convoluted mess.
Let’s start with the idea that any College or University only has so many seats. One seat=one bottom. Now lets introduce the missing phrase, Affirmative Action. Now 20% of those seats MUST have a Black or minority bottom. Most of those bottoms aren’t really qualified to be on those seats, but never the less they are there. So the bottom (useful word isn’t it?) 20% of the candidates for the freshman class than would have gained admittance (Qualified but Non-PC; White, Asian, Christian or Straight ) to the school of their choice are locked out. They however would have been actually able to succeed because they would have had a better chance of being able to do the work (albeit at the bottom 20% of the class).
So some of those candidates are the children of wealthy parents. And those parents are connected to the “Powers That Be”. (Ya, I implying they are Liberals) So deals are made. Because of Affirmative Action. Those wealthy parents are very well aware of why there are no seats waiting for their little (minimally qualified) darlings. But as members of the Progressive Elite they can’t say anything or file any of those racist lawsuits with the ugly name of “Reverse Discrimination”.
But they have money. And they have friends. And their friends ‘Know People’.
And here we are.
We can all stop wondering why there are so many people walking around with degrees from fancy universities, yet they cannot even tie their own shoes. The problem with so many, nowadays, (with their entitlement mentality) is that they are unwilling, unmotivated, and lack genuine drive to work hard physically or mentally to better themselves. This is what the “me-first” generation has spawned.

Hate to say this, but I not impressed with anyones shiny new diploma from a University until after I have found out what their course of study was and how it was evaluated (Pass/Fail? or We’re kidding everyone passes, Yeah!)
