America is the best thing to ever happen to the world. We will not let it slip away. As Churchill was supposed to have said, You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing after they have tried everything else.

But there are twanlocs who walk among us and we must overcome our welcoming and tolerant American spirit and name them. It will annoy people that I call out Barack Obama as a twanloc, but he proved himself to be just that with multiple tells during his time in office. I remember the first time my ears really perked up was his odd, flat reaction when addressing the Ft. Hood shooting. The Bowe Bergdahl affair was another weird one. And there were a lot of other incidents and policies; those two just stand out to me because they were so strange and revelatory of a world view at odds with his politician pronouncements.

P.S. TWANLOC means Those Who Are No Longer Our Countrymen. The phrase comes by way of American Founder and firebrand Sam Adams:

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

I would love to see twanloc become a noun, like morlock, only uglier.
