Blackout

So glad I don’t live in the all electric house the Democrats want us all to live in.  Their Holy Grail, electricity, has failed.  And I heat my house with the gas fireplace, and recharge my phone in my gasoline fueled car.

About On the North River

The building I live in (we’re out at the end of January, btw, hopefully to FL) is filled with woke millennials and several Teslas in the parking lot. The place is only a few years old, and the developers had the good sense to have emergency power as a back up to keep the elevator, lobby and hot water going. As such, leaving or entering the building required my best dance moves to avoid stepping on those poor snowflakes unable to cope with being unplugged even temporarily. Extension cords and power strips strung all across the floor, and I can only imagine the anguish of the Tesla owners that suddenly got a dope-slap of reality. SMH, as they say…

    • Leaving Weymouth? Everybody with any common sense seems to leave Massachusetts! Wait I’m still here, is that statement incorrect or do I lack common sense?
BTW, finally got my LTC and just before the storm. I went directly to Hunter’s and that night I may have had no electricity, no heat no hot water, but I could sleep soundly without fear of possible looter & thieves in the dark with a gun in the nightstand.

Congrats on the LTC and getting an equalizer. Anyway, I suspect that looting and thievery are very rare in your part of the world. Your problem would more likely be coyotes.
Re: common sense…who am I to judge? After all, I’ve stayed far longer than I should have. Prices down there are (understandably) through the f’in roof. Shoulda bolted years ago.

        • Coyotes don’t bother me, they don’t eat my flowers and scrubs. Although I’ve seen some Coyote/Dog hybrids that are on the large size that I wouldn’t want to meet at night.
Thievery is on the rise, judging by the police logs, anyplace on a subway or bus line seems to be going downhill. Some people in Weymouth seem to agree, there was a group of citizens waiting for the License Officer to arrive, all were there to pick up their LTC. One young, pretty brunette included; who the officer, when he arrived, seemed to decide should go first. (That would have been my choice also)

With 9mm at 43 cents a round, I think my next choice should be in .22lr.
