I don’t think “Won’t it be funny if ..” is appropriate for this tragedy, but some of the guns from Fast and Furious did get into the wrong hands within the USA.

“Gun-Free” zones don’t have any logical basis in law, logic or common sense. Criminals ignore it and only law abiding, legally carrying citizens are effected by ~~Gun-Free~~ Clay pigeon zones. So if push comes to shove…
