Our state government can keep secrets better than the Obama White House.
My mother came back from a cribbage game with the ladies to inform me that a new ramp and parking area had opened next to the T parking lot for East Braintree Station.
Think you can spot it? It’s on Commercial Street coming out of Weymouth Landing. Very convenient for me, five minutes from the house.
After leaving the ramp I took all these pictures upstream from the ramp. The Fore river ends about five hundred yards from the ramp in that direction.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the Weymouth Police handle the parking at this park, it abuts the MTBA commuter parking lot, which I believe is $7 a day. The local streets are all posted for parking during the day to curb scofflaws.
I’ve never been on this part of the Fore River before, never been any place to park and put in. So, thanks to somebody.
Low Tide [warning, there will be mud]
Headed back down to the new ramp in Weymouth Landing to see what it looks like at low tide. Because I know that the Fore River at Weymouth Landing can be very muddy.
It does look different…
Oh, I see I shot the camera strap…
Downstream, (ten yards), there is an old boathouse with a rail-track down to the water. At low tide it provides firm footing until the water depth is sufficient to launch your water-craft.
In August, I took a trip downriver to the mouth. Not very pretty…
Very industrial, instructive if you have been wondering what’s on the other side of all the stockpiled cars to be seen from route 53.
From the larger end of the scale, shipwise.
To the smaller and cuter end…
