China’s debt? Helping Skip, Solars nasty secret, Coke Nail.

China’s debt spree returns to haunt

Too much money going into the national rail system, too much money spent on stimulus, failing banks. Sounds familiar.

Another one from Doug:

Ditch the Coke Nail: Advice for the ’99 Percent’ Movement

For those that don’t know (I had to explain “Coke Nail” to my mother) it refers to a cuticle cut and shaped into a little spoon on the end of a finger to spoon cocaine into your nose.

Heed the advice of the Grail Knight “Occupy” kiddies!

Expert: Solar panels don’t work well

Solar companies are duping the public. Solar panels do not work as advertised. This comes not from coal executive but from Ray Burgess, who just happens to be the president and CEO of Solar Power Technologies, a Texas-based solar monitoring company that has developed a wireless mesh network to collect data from solar systems. Solar panels are inefficient and degrade rapidly. From the story by Don Surber.

The knives are coming out, The “higher” moral ground the “occupiers” stand on, Sunpower, bleh.

Aimless Obama walks alone

Beware Caesar, the knives are being sharpened. A man who stops trusting his followers has betrayed them. Betrayed love can turn to hate.

Occupy Wallstreet’ Protesters Steal from Local Businesses

Plus…

Panini and Company Cafe, and Mr. Keane said the protesters rarely bought anything, yet hurled curses when they were told that only paying customers could use their bathrooms.

SunPower: Twice As Bad As Solyndra, Twice As Bad For Obama

Same old, same old. Pumping money into a business no sane bank or investor would think of investing in. Political backflow to Democratic politicians and their family members. Twice the federal money down the rathole.  It’s getting boring people!

Obama has failed, and his supporters are turning to nihilism.

OK, that comment finally makes sense of what’s going on with the obscene “occupy” movement. Because coming up on a election its insane to behave in such a way that most reasonable voting citizens will be forced to conclude that the other sides supporters are immature hooligans with strong sense of entitlement to a lifelong free ride from the productive class.

If you can compress the message of the Tea Party; it might be that government should be smaller, more money and taxes is not the only or best solution to our problems and that We the People can usually do a better job of creating jobs and opportunity than the Federal Government.

What’s the message of the Occupy dropouts? That they don’t care about due process, the Rule of Law or personal initiative? And that, in my opinion, is being kind.

Columbus Day 2011, North River, boat envy

Envy.

What a platform for shooting pictures on the river.

As it is now when I put on my photographers hat, the engine room shuts down. So does the bridge, no one at the wheel. Often two seconds after the shutter clicks, the boat rams the riverbank.

Like the man said, I got to get me one of these. Of course I doubt I’d risk Hull Gut or the confluence of the North and South rivers in Scituate.

The two plontoons are inflatable and the unit can be disassembled for transport. The owner bought it in Rhode Island but he thinks the company is out of business now. Anyone seen these for sale anywhere?

Strong sun today, and I think the most people and boats I’ve ever seen on the river in one day.

I’ll add to this post later, hope you had a great Columbus Day, I did!

Governor Brown Signs Second Half of California Dream Act

This is why the next fight will be to stop these states from being bailed out by the Federal Government, (with our money). Since California is already broke and in effect bankrupt, how could they pass something like this unless they expect to have the citizens in the rest of the country step in and pay for it.

If it happens, then they are buying political support from the Latinos to keep control of California with “other peoples money”.  It will go on until the last dime is spent, taken from the last productive citizen in the last successful state. Then what?

Occupy Wall Street

Will This Email Stop The Wall St. Protest in Its Tracks?……………by Dan Friedman

To: Republican candidates and strategists

Re: “Occupy Wall St. movement,” a blessing in disguise

The “Occupy Wall St. movement” and the people behind it face an irreconcilable internal contradiction. The centrist American people know it’s obviously a leftist enterprise with some union muscle imported for laughs. So the longer the protests last and the more disruptive they get, the greater the opportunity to remind the country it’s unnecessary upheaval spawned by Obama’s regime. Republicans, the election is approaching. When it comes to the “Occupy Wall St. movement” your mission – and you must not refuse it – is to connect the dots and make certain every American understands that Obama owns it.

Driving 450 miles to look at green leaves.

A Columbus Day message for all our friends, there is no foliage to look at up north. Yesterday I drove up north, I should say “to the north”, if the map of the world had been posted upside down in elementary school I’d be saying down north so I guess it’s all depends on your point of view. Anyway, Mom wanted to see the foliage this fall and since we could make a early start on Friday morning, we went for a adventure.

We drove north on Rte. 93 to Rte. 89, south of Concord, NH. Then we followed Rte. 89 to Vermont as far as Barre. This was the heart of the peak color according to the Yankee Magazine on-line foliage map. This is the best color we saw.

We returned by traveling south on Rte. 91 through Vermont to Massachusetts, then east on Rte. 2. Round trip about 450 miles, twelve and a half hours.

In most of Massachusetts, NH and VT we saw nothing but green leaves. Where the trees were turning, faded yellow and a lot of brown leaves. That I did not stop to photograph.

Interesting sights, yes. Especially in VT, it was a beautiful day and the views of the mountains and rivers are amazing. As they would be in August or September.  I think that its been too warm, too wet and with the recent severe storms too windy for good foliage this year. Now this is what I expected. (North River MA in prior years) “There’s no place like Home, there’s no place like home!”

If you do drive up Rte. 89 in Vermont, may I suggest stopping at the Visitors Center and Vietnam Memorial.

Parking, toilets, free coffee and sandwiches (donation requested) nice people and the usual hands full of tourist information. Also, a pilot plant for a organic waste water treatment facility that uses plants and flowers to process the waste from the rest rooms and  purify the water.

At least I found some color. Better luck next year.
