Near the end of my career I may have encountered these putzes.  Funny thing is, an occasional character exhibiting that behavior used to pop up from time to time throughout my career; the bosses slack-jawed son whose inattention almost got me killed (1978), sleepy doper warehouse dude who we used to find sleeping in strange places (1984), ambitious but useless doofus I found two hours later sitting in a chair and waiting for a floor to dry so he could run wire (1990). Then at the bank in 2002 we had a video obsessed lay-about who was such a big Shanna Twain fan that after the bank IT department shut down his account for bandwidth overage, he called them to complain and told them (believe in or not) that he was using it to watch her music videos.  In the bank, on their workstation, during the hours that the bank was paying us to be there.  I caught hell for that one, for “Insufficient Supervisory Management“.   Did I mention this asshat was in the Union? In Boston?

But an entire generation of clowns like that!!!  Almost makes you wish for a depression or a war to toughen these  useless, pampered twits up.  The unhappy reality that they reproduce and vote scares the hell out of me and it explains a lot.
