Until the knee is healed from the surgery, I’m limited to taking photos of the house and yard.
Remember, don’t feed birds bread during the winter. There aren’t enough calories, they can starve with full stomachs.
When future generations look back on the global-warming scare of the past 30 years, nothing will shock them more than the extent to which the official temperature records – on which the entire panic ultimately rested – were systematically “adjusted” to show the Earth as having warmed much more than the actual data justified.
Two weeks ago, under the headline “How we are being tricked by flawed data on global warming”, I wrote about Paul Homewood, who, on his Notalotofpeopleknowthat blog, had checked the published temperature graphs for three weather stations in Paraguay against the temperatures that had originally been recorded. In each instance, the actual trend of 60 years of data had been dramatically reversed, so that a cooling trend was changed to one that showed a marked warming.
My observation from reading the accompanying comments to the article is that for an article concerning the obvious manipulation of temperature data by scientists and their organizations (that are funded largely because they pump AGW) a majority of the papers readers reject the story and all it’s charges because it is not written by “Reputable Climate Scientists“.
“Oh Lord, you have given them eyes but they will not see!“, Lex Luthor.
“These Internet regulations will deter broadband deployment, depress network investment and slow broadband speeds. How do we know? Compare Europe, which has long had utility-style regulations, with the United States, which has embraced a light-touch regulatory model. Broadband speeds in the United States, both wired and wireless, are significantly faster than those in Europe. Broadband investment in the United States is several multiples that of Europe. And broadband’s reach is much wider in the United States, despite its much lower population density,” the two wrote.
They also joined to warn about the Democrat-chaired Federal Election Commission eyeing regulation of political speech on the Internet.
The Beast is hungry. More choice openings for the regime supporters. Appointments and Czars! More fat, though unnecessary, fees and taxes transferring more of the nations GDP to the Federal Government and it’s minions.
Limos and free government jets! Unelected bureaucrats riding herd over the brutes in the field. The greatest creation of Free Enterprise, the most amazing and catholic web of commerce and communication ever imagined. The biggest transfer of power and control in the history of mankind, done without a single vote or debate or exigency.
A thief is a person that will take anything not secured or protected. Barack Hussein Obama/Barry Soetoro and his entire government are nothing more than psychopathic thieves and bullies.
The man once called “America’s mayor’’ also sharply criticized the president for having been a member of a church led by radical Chicago Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
“He spent 17 years in the church of Jeremiah Wright, and this is the guy who said ‘God damn America, not God bless America,’ ’’ Giuliani said.
“Obama never left that church.”
Giuliani said Obama doesn’t measure up to past presidents.
“He doesn’t talk about America the way John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan did, about America’s greatness and exceptionalism,” said Giuliani.
“He was educated by people who were critics of the US. And he has not been able to overcome those influences.”
For God’s sake, “My Communist Influences” will be the title of Barry’s autobiography!
How’s the weather, Obama is a communist, Gesundheit ! Where’s the controversy?
I think when I get the bill I’ll need a good stiff drink…
Nah! No stiff drink… now I can’t afford it. Just kidding, it’s worth every penny. These guys did a great job.
Boy! Do I hate winter!!!
My cousin is in Georgia (the country, not the state) teaching. In one of his occasional emails home, laden with comments about the food, the public transport and the friendly pig that follows him around, he wrote about coming across a life sized statue of President Ronald Reagan in a park in Tbilisi. This South Caucasus news story is from Nov 2011.
This year, the world marks the 20th anniversary of the Soviet empire going belly up. No less importantly, on November 23, Georgia will be marking St. George’s Day and the eighth anniversary of the 2003 Rose Revolution. So, what better way to celebrate all three events than to unveil a monument to Ronald Reagan in downtown Tbilisi?
Tbilisi residents strolling in one downtown park will soon find the crusader against the “evil empire” sitting casually on a bench with crossed legs, and gesturing for passers-by to join him for a chat; probably on the ills of Communism or the merits of economic deregulation.
Both topics have many a fan in the Georgian government and sympathetic circles — could we be seeing soon some familiar faces seated alongside the 40th US president?
There is definitely enough room on the bronze bench for enthusiasts to sit down and take photos with the life-size monument, as the pro-government Rustavi2 national broadcaster encouragingly notes. The sculpture is emblazoned with the Reagan-attributed quote “Freedom Is Never More than One Generation Away from Extinction.”
Granted, other ex-Communist countries also have commemorated Reagan, but Georgia clearly has a thing for US presidents, dead or alive.
Travelers arrive and leave eastern Tbilisi via George W. Bush Street, which features the 43rd president waving a hand from a placard to outbound traffic. George W. may have earned the honor largely for swinging by in 2005 to say hi to Georgia as a “beacon of democracy,” in his own words.
To balance out the message-making, though, you might think that Georgia, which counts heavily on diplomatic support from Washington, some day might need a wave from or a chat with a Democratic US president, too. But, as of now, no news about plans for an Obama turnpike or a JFK bust.
Above is a photo released shortly after the statue was dedicated, I’d definitely sit down for a photo with the president. This next photo was used by The Atlantic magazine to go with the story of the statues dedication, surprised?
What small and petty souls they have.
And here’s Cousin Frank’s photo, several years later that seat next to The President is certainly worn shiny.
Once again the quote from Joshua Chamberlain, “In great deeds, something abides”.
As gentle reader may know from the news, twenty-one kidnapped Coptic Christians were martyred by beheading on the weekend, in Libya. Their blood was mixed in the Mediterranean, and the Jihadi executioners, including one with an American accent, vowed that Rome across the sea would next fall to slaughter, at the command of Allah.
I believe these Copts, like many hundreds before them in the last few years mostly in Egypt itself, were genuine martyrs. They were slain in the knowledge that they could escape their fate by publicly converting to Islam. Of twenty-one captives, it appears twenty-one refused. It is the more remarkable that even little Christian boys captured by the Jihadis in Iraq refused to deny Christ, directly in sight of the butchery that awaited them. Take that in, O we of little faith, in our fey and emasculated culture. This is an aspect of the case that Western journalists overlook — often do not even bother to report — because they find anything but cowardice incomprehensible.
The rest of this remarkable piece is “below the fold”. I strongly urge everyone to read it. I wish I could write like this.

A teacher asked her 6th grade class how many of them were Obama fans.
Not really knowing what an Obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny .
The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different… again.
Little Johnny said, “Because I’m not an Obama fan.”
The teacher asked, “Why aren’t you a fan of Obama?” Johnny said, “Because I’m a Republican.”
The teacher asked him why he’s a Republican. Little Johnny answered, “Well, my Mom’s a Republican and my Dad’s a Republican, so I’m a Republican.”
Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, “If your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would that make you?”
With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, “That would make me an Obama fan.”
