“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism…”
What inspired my latest visceral, emotional but heartfelt curse of the Leviathan?
Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee.
Net-Neutrality, Keystone, Islamic Terror-Blindness… too many to list. And the newly elected, stalwart Congressional suits mill around like so many geese who honk and blink and shit. But otherwise do nothing. Not even the appearance or shadow of doing nothing. Perhaps it isn’t possible to impeach and convict the mincing bastard because he is still protected by the solid block of Democratic Senators preventing the two thirds majority necessary. But at this point even a unsuccessful Senate trail would divert and delay him from his purpose; which is to do as much harm to the United States of America as possible in the two years he has left. Go after his advisers, haul them into hearings day in and day out. God knows there are enough shady deals and incompetent management to provide two years of grist for that mill! Tie them up with every tactic and roadblock in the book. Then invent some more. DO SOMETHING!
Soon, thanks to the FCC, this may become a thing of the past…
Engadget is celebrating the fact that the Internet just got turned into Ma Bell. Here was my response in the comments:
This is utter madness. Since when has “free” ever meant “tightly controlled by the government”? Regulation like this always locks in current competitors and business models. Hate Comcast? You just guaranteed them their infinite existence and profitability. They will be the Ma Bell of your generation.
The uncensored comments following Coyotes article may soon be a thing of the past. If you think my ravings are ridiculous let me ask one thing; how did Federal control and oversight of the financial markets and Wall Street work out (think FCC=SEC) in 2008? Corruption uprooted? Corruptors exposed and punished? Trillions in investments owned by private citizens recovered and returned? Or did the Federal Government, by that time in the hands of Barack Obama’s cronies, use the crisis to loot the innocent and seize more control.
Examine the case of Bank of America; prosecuted for compliance with Federal mandates and then when that bank caved in to pressure from the Obama administration to acquire Countrywide Financial then a few years later that same administration extorted hundreds of billions from them for actions taken by the financial company they were coerced into buying.
Why would the FCC’s takeover (for the Obama Administration) be any different? Why is it so difficult for people to see that everything about this heinous administration is about Control? Power, money, regulation for the purposes of the state and the object is control…
“Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know what no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”
