4,200 Joshua trees are scheduled to be removed are replaced by solar panels for the Aratina Solar Project near Boron, CA in June of this year. They will not be salvaged but funds based on the size of the tree will be placed in a mitigation bank.
Not only are these trees endangered, but they’re considered sacred to the native Americans. They will bring bad luck to those who cut them down or destroy them. Regardless of your beliefs, they only exist in the Mojave desert and parts of the Sonoran desert. They’re cool a/f. 😎
Learn about the unique features, ecology, and threats of Joshuatrees, the only tree-like yucca that lives where it snows. Discover how they are pollinated by yucca moths, host diverse wildlife, and face challenges from wildfire and climate change.

A comment I read elsewhere, these “mitigation” con’s are just another way to divert money to fund liberal causes. The environment be damned, it’s all fake.
