Terms of Endearment.

My Danish grandfather, in exasperation, used to bark “Hold Kaeft” at my grandmother. She usually reply, “skrid”. They told me that meant the Danish version of “Love you” and “Me too”.
Good thing I never had a Danish girlfriend.

Forty years toiled in the Tel-com industry, married for 36 years widowed at sixty-one. Ten years in a relationship with a woman until her death. Was a Tea Party supporter.
