Lockdown vs Economy.
Dr. Fauci is an expert in allergies and infectious diseases. He’s not an economist – and called the economic problems “an inconvenience”. He fails to understand the consequences of his recommendations. Starvation, suicide, medical death from untreated conditions, etc… (See previous )
It seems to me that the logical way to proceed with the restarting of the economy is to ‘request’, not order, those workers or employees ages 20 to 50 years of age to be organized to go back to work now. They have the lowest likely mortality rates, and the mildest disease progression.
Necessary supervisors or expert technical and individuals with special knowledge above that age group could work remotely, but at least they would have hands, on hand, to guide when needed.
At least it’s a way to keep their companies in business and hopefully have a job to come back to someday. And prevent the warehouses that we are currently drawing down from going ‘dry’.
This insistence by certain politicians on a ongoing, complete shutdown for months to come is nothing more than a repeat of the deliberate crashing of the economy in 2008 to ensure the election of the unelectable Barack Obama. And as in 2009, we will be unpleasantly surprised to find out that the new Democrat in office has no idea (or much interest) in fixing the failed economy. Just to continue to punish those he sees as his opponents, Non-Democrats, businessmen, any conservative and mainly middle-class white Americans.
