Long term planning after the election.

election-day-p1000311

As a volunteer driver for the COA medical van, I talked to a lot of seniors over the last year about the then upcoming election; quite a few were of the ‘Hate both choices’ opinion. Over time many came over to (grudgingly) decide to vote for Trump. Few liked Hillary.   As I drove around town I found one or two yard signs for Hillary and increasingly for Donald J. Trump. But more “Hillary for Prison” signs then straight “Hillary”.  I spoke to no Hillary partisans, a few Bernie supporters (who gave the best arguments) and near the end I heard more vocal support for Trump. Not one bumper sticker on any automobile for anyone.

After the election I looked up the voting totals for my town. Though not a landslide, Hillary Clinton easily won the town, which is located south of Boston on the coast. So my conclusions are; I spend all my time with the 50+ age group, my youngest friend is about forty and I don’t cross paths with the 18-49 crowd, so Hillary lost ‘Last Century’ voters and made it up among the rest. This will be increasingly important. Obviously the answer is to increase the voting age to forty. (and the draft age)

The ‘kids’ never saw and can’t remember what we remember. Full employment (92 million left out of the work force is NOT 5% unemployment) , 100% safe streets during the day and only slightly less so at night. Being able to converse with everyone you meet, in English, and other curmudgeonly things.  Well…that’s what I remember.
Trump and the rest of us have the chance to show ‘the kids’ what the benefits of living and working unfettered by an excess of regulations and Social Justice nonsense can be like.   As Dumas said, “Nothing succeeds like success”.   Once you have tasted it, you will want more!

Under Obama and Hillary (we dodged that bullet!)  the heavy hand of the state, the rule of the unelected bureaucracy; sap the energy, tax the wealth needed to create new businesses and continue production of the necessaries of the modern world here in this country so we do not continue to lose the experienced workers and their skills. Or rather continue to give it all away to China Inc.  If we don’t involve those who voted for Hillary and improve their lives and futures, this miracle election will not be repeated.

Thanks to the GOP elites we have wasted too much time already.  Lets not waste any more.
