Berlin wall? What’s that many might ask today.
– 25 years ago, it came down. It looked like this before it did.
The Communist Russian occupiers of their puppet Communist fief the DDR (Deutsche Demokratisch Republik aka East Germany) erected that wall to prevent East Germans fleeing to what was then a free West Germany…thus avoiding ideas so good they had to be both mandatory and enforced by the STASI and KGB (secret police).
I have been on the ‘wrong’ side of that wall in past.
– It is unsettling to feel like I am there once again, 25 years later only now at home…

Really?
My mother knew a woman in W. Germany. She had family on the other side, It was awful, their lives were consumed with getting word, getting out, etc. Over the years I’ve met numerous individuals from Soviet bloc countries. The stories are all terrible, and those were just a few examples. Horrible. I foolishly believed that when the wall came down it was over. Not true by a long shot.
