Winston Churchill predicted the future — many times
Churchill: The Prophetic Statesman
As a reader I consume a lot of books on history, my brief college career was a major in history and political science. I’ve always believed that the statement, “those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it”, is a self-evident truth.
As has been said by other and wiser minds than mine, today’s Democratic Party is not your grandfather’s Democratic Party. The party was poisoned by its far left wing and died somewhere around 1975. The average voter today thinks that by withdrawing from Iraq prematurely and withdrawing support from Israel is somehow promoting peace in the future, they couldn’t be more wrong. President George Bush spent an immense amount of blood and treasure first conquering and then pacifying Iraq and he did it the goal of creating a democratic Arab state to counter Iran and as a counterweight to the adjacent radicalized Arab nations on its border. George Bush paid attention to history and its lessons. Unfortunately all is being thrown away by the hasty exit from Iraq that left no stabilizing American presence. As it looks now all of President Bush’s work may soon be undone.
The war on men
The battle of the sexes is alive and well. According to Pew Research Center, the share of women ages eighteen to thirty-four that say having a successful marriage is one of the most important things in their lives rose nine percentage points since 1997 – from 28 percent to 37 percent. For men, the opposite occurred. The share voicing this opinion dropped, from 35 percent to 29 percent. Believe it or not, modern women want to get married. Trouble is, men don’t.
…
And in doing so, I’ve accidentally stumbled upon a subculture of men who’ve told me, in no uncertain terms, that they’re never getting married. When I ask them why, the answer is always the same.
…the so-called rise of women has not threatened men. It has pissed them off. It has also undermined their ability to become self-sufficient in the hopes of someday supporting a family. Men want to love women, not compete with them. They want to provide for and protect their families – it’s in their DNA. But modern women won’t let them…
Fortunately, there is good news: women have the power to turn everything around. All they have to do is surrender to their nature – their femininity – and let men surrender to theirs.
If they do, marriageable men will come out of the woodwork.
I strongly doubt I’ll ever get married again, my departed Samurai Princess is a tough act to follow. Not that women are lining up to date me, on the contrary. I think I’ve become invisible to the opposite sex. Though to be honest if I really want to meet someone I think I’d need to get the hell out of the Northeast, go South or go West, but just GO.
To put it another way, Elizabeth Warren is the poster child for progressive Massachusetts women…
Almost makes me wish I was gay.
