Trump civil trial.

The Case: “…raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in Manhattan in either 1995 or 1996.”  And defamed her by denying it and calling her a liar.

From the comments:

Defendants not testifying in their own defense is the norm.

It may have been a civil trial, but the things Trump was accused of are crimes, albeit crimes past the statute of limitations. It would have been extremely foolish for Trump, given the array of enemies against him, to allow himself to be subject to cross examination.

It’s bad enough that the civil court system allows people to be punished for crimes for which the criminal justice system has chosen or is legislatively prohibited from punishing them, but New York specifically passed a law to allow this trial, waiving the civil statue of limitations in certain cases for one year. She filed charges under the Adult Survivor’s Act which was passed in New York last year. It allows retroactive filing of accusations of sexual offenses that normally would be past the statute of limitations between November 24, 2022, and November 24, 2023.

This selective waiving of the right of the accused to be safe from long-delayed accusations is an affront to justice.

… also…

The mere fact that he was persecuted on 30-year-old unsubstantiated, uncorroborated and unreported rape charges, without even a specific date alleged to be able to provide an alibi for is simply ridiculous.

By not testifying he avoided any perjury traps they had prepared.

…his was a very hostile judge and jury that didn’t like him and was going to find him guilty of something regardless of his actual innocence or not. Him testifying would have at best done nothing and at worst harmed him. Additionally, his testimony might have ended up in a Democrat or #NeverTrump campaign commercial.

The judge prevented Trump Team from asking a lot of questions such as why she never reported this, why she didn’t attempted to get security camera footage, why she didn’t attempt to have Trump proscututed, She couldn’t even pin point and approximant month or year it happened.

What defense can you put on when the judge put the finger on the trial to even stop questions to even attack the credibility of her testimony . They weren’t allowed to tell the jury about the person funding the lawsuit, they weren’t allowed to point out she was being paid to tell this story and paid bring this lawsuit.

A man who owns multiple Hotels and homes in the NYC area is going to assault a woman in the dressing room of a busy NYC store?

It was a political show trial and Trump declined to appear and perform.

VDH: Peak Woke?

The Impending Thermidor Reaction in Jacobin America

Almost everyone who originally had opposed the absolute monarchy, and, like the Americans, wished for a constitutional replacement, was eventually executed by revolutionaries who were then executed by more radical revolutionaries. The longer and more radical the revolution ran, the meaner, dumber, and more deadly the revolutionaries who emerged from the woodwork.

The final revolutionary correction saw a Directory, then a Consulate, and finally the dictator Napoleon—the self-described emperor who claimed he was the final absolutist manifestation of the “Revolution.”

The World Upside Down

Like Revolutionary France, our woke revolution was contrary to human nature and therefore had to be imposed by force or coercion.

A Counterrevolution Is Coming

At peak woke, our reign of terror is beginning to lose momentum because its continuation would erode all the work of 247 years of American progress and sacrifice.

A counterrevolution is building, not just because people are angry at what has become of their country, but because they now are learning that if they do nothing, they will have no country—and soon.

RMV part two.

Previously…  RMV

Finally secured the renewal for my MA drivers license and (unwanted) upgrade to Real ID.

On the second appointment, following the debacle of the first, I returned with the requested original birth certificate.  Seventy-three years old and survived a fire but in good shape.  As you might remember on the first visit my valid, unexpired US Passport was rejected because the Registry computer couldn’t ‘read’ the enclosed chip.

In-between the 1st and 2nd visits I went by the Passport Office.  They attested that my passport was fine, that the problem is with the State of Massachusetts computer systems.

So when they called me up I handed in my birth certificate.  The clerk looked at it and shook his head.  “We don’t take this format”, he said, “The embossed seal and the birth certificate are two separate pieces of paper attached to each other, we don’t like that”   He continued, “We want the long form with the seal on the same document.”

A short discussion ensued regarding the fact that 73 years ago that was how they issued the BC’s.  But it was useless, you can’t argue with the dictates of The Authority.

“Just get a new Birth Certificate issued and bring that back, we have everything else scanned so it will be simple”.   But I still had to get a new appointment, two weeks more, and my expired licenses extension was running out.

So next Monday I drove into Boston, to the Dept of Vital Records.   I hate driving into Boston and Boston Traffic hates me back.  A left lane accident was arranged so that the trip was a long, slow crawl taking up most of the morning.  But I finally arrived at my destination and went inside, filled out a request form and waited.   No chairs or benches BTW.  Have I mentioned my spinal stenosis?

Finally a clerk took my form, read it and asked me if I had a drivers license for identification.  So I gave him my (now expired) drivers license, he glanced at it for a second, then said “Fine, wait there”.   And five minutes later I had a brand new copy of my birth certificate.  I left and succeeded in getting out of Boston, more or less, trouble free.

A couple of weeks later I arrived at my third appointment.  I gave the clerk the new copy of my BC.  He then asked me for the rest of the documentation.  I remarked to him that I was told last time that all I needed to bring this time was the BC, that they had scanned in everything else.  “No, I have to see it all”, he replied to that.

Well that’s where I fooled them, I had stuck the new BC into the manila envelope with all of the other documents, so I had everything with me!  Finally I was finished, just pay the $50 (the price for the old renewal pre-‘Real ID’ was $20) and I got a temporary license while the new one was being created and mailed.  That arrived two weeks later.

So to sum up.  A little over one month of time elapsed.  Three round trips plus one round trip to Boston;  7 hours.  Three hours waiting to be called up to the window and for the transaction. Over two hundred miles of driving, and roughly $29 in gas.  Plus $40 for the AAA membership, $20 for the new birth certificate.  And $50 for the ‘Real-ID’ drivers license.  Or $139.00 total.

Interaction with the minions of the State.  Priceless.

Nashville Shooter Manifesto Placed In Secure Crate Alongside Motive For Vegas Shooting, Epstein Client List, Ark of The Covenant

U.S.·May 3, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

QUANTICO, VA — According to anonymous sources, the trans activist manifesto of the Nashville mass shooter has been put in a top-secret crate in a top-secret warehouse for safekeeping, right next to the motive for the Vegas shooting, the Epstein client list, and the Ark of the Covenant.

“Dangerous material like this cannot be allowed to fall into the hands of the American public, as it threatens to shed light on what drove this trans activist,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray in a memo, which his office later leaked to the press. “It is paramount to our national security efforts that we keep secret any and all information that could call our approved narrative into question.”

The Nashville police department had cooperated with transferring the manifesto into the FBI’s possession “for safekeeping,” citing their work as “a necessary bulwark against harrowing possible outcomes including but not limited to citizens leaving the Democrat Party.”

At publishing time, the FBI announced plans to transport the manifesto to a different secure location to make space in the warehouse for crates of ballots for Biden’s reelection.

Commie Cali.

“California Legislature Considering New Rules Mandating EV Bidirectional Charging Capabilities”:

Knowing something about how Commie governments work I’d guess something like this will happen.

You charge the battery in your EV (is it still correct to refer to it as ‘Your’ EV and battery?) at 40 cents per kilowatt.
An Power Emergency occurs and the mandated reverse charging begins. At the same time those homes drawing power from the grid are paying ‘Peak Load’ pricing from their ‘Smart Power Meter’ and are paying 50 cents per kilowatt.
When you charged your EV it was overnight at ‘Off Peak’ prices. The Peoples Power Utility is drawing the power from your EV, what is the credit that you will receive in return?

A. 40 cents, what you paid (See “C”)
B. 50 cents. (What! Are you a Capitalist money grubber trying to profit off the backs of the People?)
C. Zero cents. (Sorry, you are not a registered utility so cannot legally sell power in the People’s State)

Any complaints must be filed with the State office located in the sub-basement of your local Party Center.

Here’s a cheerful headline and a bit of good news.

Die DEI, die!

On January 24, Kelsey Butler of Bloomberg reported, “Big Tech Layoffs Are Hitting Diversity and Inclusion Jobs Hard.”

“Companies that made promises to hire more underrepresented groups are gutting departments meant to achieve those goals.”

The story said, “The layoffs sweeping the technology industry are gutting diversity and inclusion departments, threatening company pledges to boost underrepresented groups in their ranks and leadership.

“Listings for DEI roles were down 19% last year — a bigger decline than legal or general human resources jobs saw, according to findings from Textio, which helps companies create unbiased job ads. Only software engineering and data science jobs saw larger declines, at 24% and 27%, respectively.”

Being vital to the company is job protection. DEI is a good little-work, big-pay gig until the economy goes south, as it always does eventually.

Charles Love wrote in Newsweek on April 21, “A white grievance backlash has arrived in Massachusetts, to hear the liberal media tell it.

…if you talk to the parents at the center of the ongoing fight over Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in public schools in Newton, Massachusetts, you’ll find something very different. You won’t find MAGA Republicans opposing DEI in the schools, but rather liberal Democrats who have noticed a shift in their children’s school system priorities. And their complaints have nothing to do with being white.

“One parent had a child excluded from an affinity group (a race-based social group), while other parents were dismayed to find an accelerated math program that was in place for years had been scrapped due to equity concerns. Still others were troubled to learn that their children’s English and History instruction was filled with language dividing everyone into categories of oppressor or oppressed.”

DIE is one of the useless degrees that many students are tricked into paying for.  Students that should instead be going for degrees that translate into marketable skills.
