Gender has nothing to do with academia.

From ACE

A researcher wrote a scientific paper about the phenomenon of “Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD),” whereby teenagers who have never “identified” as any gender but their actual one suddenly declare they’re the opposite gender. ROGD affects girls, who are much more susceptible to peer pressure, faddish trends, and groupthink than boys are.

The paper was published, but then rejected, by a scientific journal — because trans activists insisted that their Politics trump Science.

My Research on Gender Dysphoria Was Censored. But I Won’t Be.

Trans activists forced the retraction of my paper. Their efforts have redoubled my commitment to the truth.

On March 29, I published an article in the prestigious academic journal Archives of Sexual Behavior. Less than three months later, on June 14, it was retracted by Springer Nature Group, the giant academic publisher of Archives, for an alleged violation of its editorial policies.

Retraction of scientific articles is associated with well-deserved shame: plagiarism, making up data, or grave concerns about the scientific integrity of a study. But my article was not retracted for any shameful reason. It was retracted because it provided evidence for an idea that activists hate.

The retracted article, “Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria: Parent Reports on 1655 Possible Cases,” was coauthored with Suzanna Diaz, who I met in 2018 at a small meeting of scientists, journalists, and parents of children they believed had Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD).

There is ample evidence that in progressive communities, multiple girls from the same peer group are announcing they are trans almost simultaneously. There has been a sharp increase in this phenomenon across the industrialized West. A recent review from the UK, which keeps better records than America, showed a greater than tenfold increase in referrals of adolescent girls during just the past decade.

But there have been virtually no scientific data or studies on the subject.

In part that is because researchers who have touched this topic have been punished for their curiosity. Just ask Lisa Littman. Ultimately, her paper on the subject resulted in an unnecessary “correction” by the journal that published it, and the loss of Littman’s academic affiliation with Brown University, which prioritized activist outrage over Littman’s academic freedom.

Our article was based on parent reports of 1,655 adolescent and young adult children. Three-fourths of them were female. Emotional problems were common among this group, especially anxiety and depression, which many parents said preceded gender issues by years. Most of these young people had taken steps to socially transition, including changing their pronouns, dress, and identity to the other sex (or in some cases, to neither sex). Parents observed that after their children socially transitioned, their mental health deteriorated. A small number–seven percent of those whose parents answered Suzanna’s survey–had received medical transition treatment, including drugs to block puberty, or cross-sex hormones.

Disturbingly, those young people with more emotional problems were especially likely to have socially and medically transitioned. The best predictor of both social and medical transition was a referral to a gender specialist. Some 52 percent of parents in our study who had received a referral said they felt pressured by the gender specialist to facilitate some sort of transition for their child.

Almost immediately these activists began to lobby both the publisher of Archives of Sexual Behavior (Springer Nature Group) and the organization affiliated with the journal (International Academy of Sex Research, or IASR) to retract the article and to punish the editor of Archives, psychologist Kenneth Zucker, because he had published our work.

Debate is essential to good science, but that is not what these activists want. They seek surrender. And that is what they got.

Two tickets.

Finally got into see “Sound of Freedom”.   Very well done.  Excellent acting, directing and editing (not that I’d expect to see any Oscar nods for the movie. Or that I would care).

I haven’t seen very many movies that had the audience applaud the film at the end, but we did for this one.

When I got home I went to their “Pay it Forward” webpage and ‘purchased’ two free tickets for anyone that wants to claim them.  Bring Kleenex.

Pretty full house, since last weekend this location didn’t have any showtimes listed for SOF I assume they begged, burrowed, or stole a copy of the film to show.

With the addition of the Actors Guild joining the current Hollywood strike , it’s suggested that independent small studios and foreign movies will gain market share and screen time; great!   Since I prefer them anyway.

Just before everything went to Hell in 2020,  we went on a Sunset Cruise from Plymouth Harbor

The most perfect sunset ever seen.

The attacks on “Sound of Freedom” remind me of “Unplanned”.

Back in 2019 there was another independent movie on the subject of abortion, “Unplanned”   And the powers that be did everything in their power to suppress the movie; from ‘correcting’ the ratings published on IMDB to creating a previously unknown category of “Propaganda”.

Rating changes

Calling it propaganda.

I hope to see it soon.

From The Wall Street Journal… Amazing.

Government and social-media companies colluded to stifle dissenters who turned out to be right.

For three years, pandemic public relations mocked nature, generating fear, illness, inflation and excess death beyond what the virus caused. Digital censorship supercharged the effort to hide reality, but reality is getting its day in court.

Legions of doctors stayed quiet after witnessing the demonization of their peers who challenged the Covid orthodoxy. A little censorship leads people to watch what they say. Millions of patients and citizens were deprived of important insights as a result.

Health authorities and TV doctors insisted young people were vulnerable, demanded toddlers wear masks, closed schools, beaches and parks, and were loath to contemplate crucial cost-benefit analysis. The economy? Mental health? Never heard of them.

These “experts” denied the protective effects of recovered immunity, a phenomenon we’ve known about since the Plague of Athens in 430 B.C. They effectively prohibited generic drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration, such as azithromycin and ivermectin, which low-income nations around the world were deploying successfully. They failed to appreciate the evolutionary dynamics of mass vaccination during a pandemic.

The U.S. government spent $6 trillion to buoy its shuttered economy, and most people got Covid anyway. Worst of all, the lockdowns and mandates resulted in unprecedented bad health outcomes for young and middle-aged people in rich countries.

Excess mortality in most high-income nations was worse in 2021 and 2022 than in 2020, the initial pandemic year. Many poorer nations with less government control seemed to fare better. Sweden, which didn’t have a lockdown, performed better than nearly every other advanced nation.

After navigating 2020 with relative success, young and middle-age healthy people in rich nations began dying in unprecedented numbers in 2021 and 2022. Health authorities haven’t focused enough on this cataclysm of premature death from non-Covid heart attacks, strokes, pulmonary embolisms, kidney failure and cancer.

The greatest disaster to befall this nation and I had to live through it.  So far.

People need to go to prison,  or hang.

I didn’t pay attention until they deleted it.

Lancet Study on Covid Vaccine Autopsies Finds 74% Were Caused by Vaccine – Study is Removed Within 24 Hours

Lancet review of 325 autopsies after Covid vaccination found that 74% of the deaths were caused by the vaccine – but the study was removed within 24 hours.

The paper, a pre-print that was awaiting peer-review, is written by leading cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough, Yale epidemiologist Dr. Harvey Risch and their colleagues at the Wellness Company and was published online on Wednesday on the pre-print site of the prestigious medical journal.

Without further detail from the Preprints with the Lancet staff who removed the paper it is hard to know what substance the claim that the conclusions are not supported by the methodology really has. A number of the authors of the paper are at the top of their fields so it is hard to imagine that the methodology of their review was really so poor that it warranted removal at initial screening rather than being subject to full critical appraisal. It smacks instead of raw censorship of a paper that failed to toe the official line. Keep in mind that the CDC has not yet acknowledged a single death being caused by the Covid mRNA vaccines. Autopsy evidence demonstrating otherwise is clearly not what the U.S. public health establishment wants to hear.   – Will Jones.
