“…we’re building a domestic military, because its unlawful or unconstitutional to use American troops on American soil.”

SpaceX to launch amazing rocket that lands itself on legs

In the early morning hours of March 16, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch from Cape Canaveral to  deliver 8,000 pounds of supplies to the International Space Station. What’s most remarkable isn’t what’s going up, but what’s coming back down.

Like a panel from a sci-fi comic strip of the ’30s (think “Buck Rogers in the 25th century A.D.”), the first stage of the newest rocket from SpaceX – the stage that has always been used once and then discarded soon after launch, becoming a $100 million piece of scrap metal – will unfold a set of spindly metallic legs as it screams back through the atmosphere and fire a set of retro rockets to halt its descent.

I’m not trying to be a sour puss but frankly I expected this a very long time ago.   This is achievement, this is progress!   The billions Trillions pissed away on democrat-voting urban scum could have carried us to Mars, The Asteroid Belt, Jupiter.   All the resources, all the energy the human race could ever need is out there.   Instead we are living in the world of The Marching Morons.

Now, where are my flying cars?

Call out the Militia.

No militia means more intrusive law enforcement: Column

In the time of the Framers, the militia was an armed body consisting of essentially the entire military-age male citizenry. Professional police not having been invented, the militia was the primary tool for enforcing the law in circumstances that went beyond the reach of the town constable, and it was also the primary source of defense against invasions and insurrection.

Calling out the militia thus meant calling out ordinary citizens, trained in military tactics (that’s the “well-regulated” part), bearing their own arms. The Framers — who had a deep and abiding fear of professional standing armies because of abuses by the British Crown — thought this safer. A professional standing army could turn on the people, placing its loyalty with its paymasters rather than with those it was supposed to protect. The militia, on the other hand, couldn’t betray the people because it was the people.

Even short of revolutions and coups, the militia had a different character in ordinary law enforcement than professionals possess. If called upon to enforce an unpopular law, or to enforce the law in an oppressive or unpopular way, the militia could drag its feet and fail to perform. (In this sense, the militia was like a jury, which is free to acquit even a guilty defendant if it thinks conviction would be unjust. In fact, Yale Law Professor Akhil Amar has likened the militia to jurors with guns because, like the jury, it was an institution made up of the people, through which the government must act, and one not susceptible to the kinds of corruption besetting professional institutions).

Wow, now there’s a prescient thought!   Since it predates the establishment of police forces everywhere, does the Militia supersede and hold greater authority?

Did some more reading on the subject,  so… Nah!  One primary bill in 1903 and follow-up legislation define and limit the status and extralegal rights  of militia.   However, the allure of independent militias formed around a few good buddies is a popular topic on the web and some cases in real life.   And life is what those who get too enthusiastic and pit their little gun club and marching society against the privileges of the Federal Government can expect to receive as a sentence.   The Federal Government has been funny that way ever since the Civil War.   So, save it until we (really, really) need it.

Perhaps now at least one person involved knows the truth.

First, I don’t know the truth. But it’s possible no one alive save one knows the truth.

Maybe Jeffrey MacDonald was innocent after all

In a rare interview, co-counsel Wade Smith reflects on the murder case that’s long captured America’s imagination

Joe McGinniss, the journalist who harassed Sarah Palin, dead at 71.

Too bad to put in a life’s work and have something creepy that you did be the #1 thing many or most people attach to your name when they see that you died.

Jeffrey MacDonald, convicted killer of ‘Fatal Vision’ fame, wishes peace for Joe McGinniss

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

My View

Again, I don’t know if Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald killed his family or not. There is no question that he has been convicted of the crime and lost his appeals.   It must be very frustrating for him to have spend half his life in prison while many other people have gained fame and fortune arguing back and forth, pro and con over his lost life and liberty.   The recent stories I’ve read, very sympathetic to the defense,  make the disturbing suggestion that Dr. MacDonald’s ill-luck with the appeals are directly due to the “Circle the Wagons” effect of Federal Prosecutors and Federal Judges working to defend the original verdict. As though the defendant being found guilty at this point would be some sort of indictment of the Federal Justice System.   And they may be right.

I don’t know if Dr. MacDonald is innocent or guilty.   I tend to be influenced by his life history, the normalcy of his life, the complete lack of any indications of any violent incidences and no dialogue that he lacked in love and affection for his family.   On the other hand I don’t understand psychotics, or serial killers.  If that’s what he is.  (Wasn’t he tested for abnormal psychological behavior at the time of the crime, and passed?)  If he is a psychotic, then he was one for a period of hours and then reverted to normalcy.   Is that possible?   Is there any record of anyone managing that transformation at any time, in any country?

As in many famous cases from that period, after reading the stories the impression I come away with is, “Would not have been convicted today”.  And I have no reasonable doubt about that.

Saamer Akhshabi Dies From His Own Molotov Cocktail: FBIs Story Unacceptable – School Raising Money to Send Body to Iran

Maggie

Iranian Ph.D. student, Saamer Akhshabi experimented with one too many homemade Molotov-cocktail-type explosives, when it prematurely detonated or ignited, obviously putting other apartment dwellers in danger. He died yesterday from the burns he received from one of his own devices, butt — the University of Tehran alum WAS NOT A DANGER TO THE COMMUNITY, according to the FBI:

“The FBI has relayed that, to date, they have not developed any information or evidence indicating criminal intent in this investigation.” Source: AJC

You know, We the People pay the salaries of the FBI. They owe us the truth. It is ridiculous to assume we will believe this man was not a danger to the community, just because they want us to believe it. They do not care about our concerns. They didn’t know about the Boston Bombers, and look at the suffering. They didn’t know about this Iranian man, here from the most aggressive terrorist nation on earth, WITH A ROOMMATE, and bottles filled with gasoline and other paraphernalia in an apartment building! We have paid for an explanation. Let’s hear it.

On Akhshabi’s Facebook page, “Multiple Entry US Visa for Iranian Students,” (“multiple entry,” what does that mean?) is shown as a group he belonged to. He advocated for ”common sense steps to “reduce gun violence” but gasoline bombs, with innocent people nearby, no problem.

The truth is, We the People have a good fix on who “they” are letting into the U.S. Blame me, if you want to, for not mourning this young man, who is someone’s son, someone’s brother, someone’s friend, but when the FBI insolently backs off of any explanation of what seems to be such blatant suspicious and irresponsible activity, I feel the FBI does not have the best interests of American citizens at the forefront of its agenda.

Georgia Tech’s College of Computing is raising funds to help his family return his body to Iran.

“Saamer’s initial prognosis was very bad, but he fought for more than a month,” Zvi Galil, dean of the college of computing, said in a story on the Institute’s website. “Our faculty and students visited him regularly, often staying for hours at a time. This was an excellent, promising student, and all of us in the college deeply mourn him.”

If you want to donate, contact the Georgia Tech School of Computing. Really, go ahead and do it, or you could go to a John 3:16 Mission and hand an America soldier a few dollars.

Here are some facts from the original story:

A suspected Molotov cocktail and several plastic bottles filled with gasoline and kerosene were found in the Midtown apartment of a Georgia Tech graduate student severely burned, police said Wednesday…

In addition to what police described as a Molotov cocktail — a container filled with flammable material, and often topped with a make-shift fuse — police said several gasoline- or kerosene-filled bottles were found in the apartment. Source: Pamela Geller

Originally, Akhshabi was reported to be a Turkish national?

Fox is reporting that Akhabab is from Turkey ,and refers to him a “victim.” The Examiner also says he is a Turkish national.

He was an Iranian activist for Barack Obama and supported gun control for you and me, while he was was building bombs.

The video below is a news report aired at the time of the explosion. You’ll hear that this had nothing to do with terrorism, Saamer was just having personal problems. His roommate was in the apartment at the time of the accidentally-premature explosion, and put out the fire, which melted the window blinds.

Tiny Elephant and the Enormous Mouse

There was a book I owned once, “The Tiny Elephant and the Enormous Mouse”. Good title for what’s going on now.
Obama, as he took office, had handed to him an experienced military with proven leaders, weapons and reputation. A recently strong economy, which his friends crashed to help him get elected, that could be repaired and restored. But since that would entail re-hiring the white, male workforce that he disapproved of, that didn’t happen. Still hasn’t happened. And of course the legacy of George Bush in the international arena, a clear blueprint of how to deal with all the players. Obama scrapped that of course in favor of a “reset” and apology tour that is unique in my knowledge of history.

After WWII the US had strong bases and forces in the SE Asia theater, land handed over by the vanquished for the most part, but it put us in a commanding position. We used that to protect the Free World from an expansionist USSR.

After the end of the war in Iraq, we could have established bases, Air and Sea, and commanded the area. Syria would not have happened, at least not the way it went. Iran would have been in our sights, constantly. A obvious move, expected by all parties, treaties drawn up and ready to be signed. Iraqi leaders bought new pens so as to be ready when called on. But Obama walked away. Walked away from the years of blood, money, and effort. As through it was 2006 and he was in the Democratic jeering section of the Senate and still opposing George Bush.

The number of Obama’s walk backs from taking strong positions defending democracy and western civilization are too numerous to count. He is the Tiny Elephant. Putin acts today in sure knowledge, his only opponent the Ukrainian people themselves. Putin is the Enormous Mouse, the Russian population is crashing, the economy is weak except for oil and gas, but Putin is willing to use the resources he has effectively. As the British SAS slogan says,”He who dare, Wins”.

Barak Obama is a traitor, he could not be doing more harm to the USA if he tried.

The Unmarked, Matte-Gray Crown Vic……………….

Bill Whittle noticed something annoying on a recent commute: a Crown Victoria without license plates. Why are the authorities becoming more militarized and treating Americans like the enemy? Hear more on this Afterburner with Bill Whittle.

I grew up in the fifties, the cops were WWII vets.   They had a presence, an way about them that you knew,  just knew,  do not mess with this man.  Men who had wagered their lives and paid with their youth’s innocence to protect their homeland would not then come home to “shit where they lived”.

Game of keep away, played for real.

Some have asked what I’ve been doing in retirement.
Well, I applied for a building permit for a new house. It was going to be 100 ft tall and 400 ft wide, with 12 gun turrets at various heights, and windows all over the place and a loud outside entertainment sound system. It would have parking for 200 cars, and I was going to paint it snot green with pink trim.
The City Council told me; “Forget it… AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN!”
So, I sent in the application again, but this time I called it a ‘Mosque’.
Work starts on Monday.
I love this country. It’s the government that scares the shit out of me.

Don’t forget the cops,  or the New Centurions.

Disabled Vietnam vet, 70, shot in the stomach by police as he reached for his CANE during a traffic stop

After being pulled over Mr Canipe had got out of his truck and walked to the back to reach for what the deputy believed was a rifle.

Mr Faris described the incident as ‘very unfortunate,’ and added: ‘It does appear, at this time, that Deputy Knox’s actions were an appropriate response to what he reasonably believed to be an imminent threat to his life.’

The time is long past when Police Immunity should be re-examined.

If I made a mistake like that, I’d go to prison.  Period.

If a cop makes a mistake like that, he should go to prison.  Period.
