Snow

(CNN)It was like a wicked cruel souvenir from what was a wicked brutal winter, a winter that Boston didn’t officially close the books on until this week — when the last of the snow finally melted.

That’s right — the snow lingered until July.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh commemorated the occasion Wednesday with a barbecue on City Hall Plaza, where he announced the winners of the “Snow Melt Challenge” — the Bostonians who correctly guessed July 14 as “the day we’ve all been waiting for!”

The irony, it burns.

KUWAIT. LIBERATION OF KUWAIT CITY. Triumphal arrival of the coalition troops in Kuweit in February 1991

That woman on the right look pregnant?

When I read that the Islamic terrorist in Chattanooga was 24 years old and born in Kuwait that sparked a memory.

I remembered what I was doing in 1991. My wife and I were packing the donations to the troops fighting to liberate Kuwait. At a small (failed) suburban Mall, we sorted through the piles of chewing gum, razor blades and toilet paper. She joined the other volunteers and organized the stuff into little individual packets and when the hundreds of packets had been sorted into larger boxes and the boxes were stacked, wrapped and secured to pallets then me and the other bigger guys lifted them up onto and packed a truck to the roof. Every week, two nights a week. Until our military was successful in freeing Kuwait and liberating it’s people.

Ironic, isn’t it?   I guess some people really did deserve Saddam Hussein.

Another TEAM attack… Tea Party Muslim that is.

So was his Confederate Flag on his shirt or his pick-up truck?

A “Lone Gunman”, again.

Every time (those few times) that a white nut murders innocents it’s a call for sweeping changes, stripping  American rights and freedoms, but only from the white middle class.  Even through he has no affiliation with any American party (well, other than the Democrats) or the Conservative movement.

When a Muslim kills while screaming Allah Akbar,  he’s a “lone wolf”.  He’s praised by all the Nations of Islam and all the Imans in all the Mosques in all the world (but quietly in whispers in those located in this country) but he’s a “lone wolf” according to the Magic Negro Barry.

God Damn all Muslims.

Death of History

A generation which ignores history has no past and no future. Robert Heinlein

Union_-_Confederate_Flag

The Confederate Flag is part of our history.   That history instructs us about many things that are important today.  Honor, courage, grace.

When the Army of Northern Virginia surrendered in April of 1865, Ulysses S. Grant appointed Major General Joshua Chamberlain to formerly accept that surrender.   Gen. Chamberlain could have conducted the affair quite differently from the way he chose.  Since General Grant had already allowed that the men could retain their mounts if personally owned and the officers could keep their swords and sidearms, it was the weapons and the battle-flags of the army that would be surrendered.

In General Chamberlain’s own words:

“Bayonets were affixed to muskets, arms stacked, and cartridge boxes unslung and hung upon the stacks. Then, slowly and with a reluctance that was appealingly pathetic, the torn and tattered battleflags were either leaned against the stacks or laid upon the ground. The emotion of the conquered soldiery was really sad to witness. Some of the men who had carried and followed those ragged standards through the four long years of strife, rushed, regardless of all discipline, from the ranks, bent about their old flags, and pressed them to their lips with burning tears.

The General did something inspired, he had the Union troops that were formed up perform a military salute.  It was an act of chivalry that greatly impressed the Confederate officers and men that had not expected courtesy and respect.  It was the beginning of the healing of the wounds of war.  General Chamberlain separated the men from the cause, the cause was laid down in front of the Union Standards but the men were welcomed with respect.  Those battle flags that had contended against those of the Union had been defeated and surrendered,  the men and their memories went home.   Dixie was played at the White House by Lincoln’s order.  No one went into a Gulag.

Without the Confederate flag and the memorials, statues and names of the Confederate heroes, there is no history.   Without history we will make the same mistakes again, and again.  As we seem to do doing today, the same mistakes.  All the reasons that strong states rights were placed in the Constitution are vindicated by the total wreckage of our economy, our privacy, our safety and our sovereignty.   How is that (increasingly) central control of the economy doing?  Is everyone happy with the Federal Government listening and reading and patting everyone down (and sometimes feeling us up).  Do you think that you have broken any of the thousands of contradictory federal statues today, most of which are really only of concern to the law abiding middle-class.   Heard any English spoken on the bus, or the train, or on the street today?

Historically speaking, “Do you still feel that America is a Free Country?”.   Or is it that you lack a proper frame of reference?

U.S. Air Force Allows Rainbow-striped U.S. Flag at Arizona Base

TPNN and Steve Quayle

rainbow flag

Former senior airman Brian Kolfage, writing in the Blaze, said he saw and American flag that had rainbow stripes rather than the alternative red and white stripes mandated in the code.

Title 4 clearly states the American flag “shall be thirteen horizontal stripes, alternate red and white; and the union of the flag shall be forty-eight starts, white in a blue field.”

Kolfage wrote, “The flag I saw is a parody of the American Flag with 50 white stars in the uion, smeared with the rainbow colors as the stripes. The moment the flag took on the union starts is where it becomes a violation, with my understanding of the U.S. Code.”

Again, miss-use of the word.

The moment all of you tech geeks have been waiting for: the first ever robot wedding took place in Japan on June 27. Crowds paid $81 to witness the historic occasion.

The ‘bride’ and ‘groom’ are Frois, a robotic creation from iconic company Maywa Denki, and humanoid Yukirin, an android made in the likeness of a Japanese pop idol Yuki Kashiwagi, and developed by Takayuki Todo.

The robots officially tied the knot in a full wedding ceremony, complete with a cake, a (robot) wedding band and even a kiss.

Marrying the robotic couple was likewise a robot – Pepper, who was developed by Aldebaran for Softbank. It actually tends to customers’ needs on a daily basis at the company’s mobile phone stores in Tokyo.

I’m not sure how to take this, mocking the institution of marriage or a poke at gay “marriage”.  Then I realized, it’s just the Japanese again.  The land of young girls who wear their panties on their heads and office workers pay for a nap at midday with their heads on the lap of a pretty girl.

Nuked too much or not enough?

I loved this quote from the town mayor:

Alexander Orth—mayor of the town of Heikendorf, where the man lives—wasn’t surprised by the discovery because the elderly man “was chugging around in that thing during the snow catastrophe in 1978,” adding that “some people like steam trains, others like tanks.”

Oh, and he also had other ordinance, such as; a torpedo and anti-aircraft gun and other cool stuff.  I’m unclear on why, suddenly, the government showed up to confiscate the old boy’s toys?
