Bitcoin, Kakistocracy – Bitcoin has fallen by over 80% three previous times. If its inherent utility is as an alternative currency, then it will remain unsuitable for that purpose so long as holders don’t know whether their current balance will purchase a Porsche or a pineapple. Did you know the IRS has ruled that every bitcoin transaction represents a taxable event? Not just investment entry and exit. Everything. This would be like having to record and report a dollar cost and sales basis every time you bought a hamburger. With failure to do so exposing you to criminal evasion charges. This alone represents the type of intractable friction that destroys a currency use case.

If (as many of your friends still do) you are living in your parents basement, then President Trump actions, including this one, might make it easier for someone else (but not you) to earn the money that supports you.

For the first time in years, there is an emerging consensus that the biggest racket in national politics deserves to end.

Earlier this month, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and 10 other Republican senators held a luncheon summit at the White House with President Trump with the goal of drastically reforming the Renewable Fuel Standard, the federal mandate that annually funnels $13.5 billion from the wallets of American fuel and food consumers into the coffers of agribusiness giants.

From his mouth to God’s ear.  There is nothing I hate more than ethanol in my fuel.

As I have said many times:

EPA and the Asteroid, Both are likely to end civilization, neither are elected.

New mission for ‘Zumwalt’ class (?)

The U.S. Navy is transforming its Zumwalt-class land-attack destroyers into surface-warfare ships whose main mission will be sinking other vessels at sea. In swapping the job of the three-ship class, the Navy is admitting that its original concept for the 600-foot, stealthy warships is no longer viable.
