“The World’s Smartest Man”   AKA President Barack Obama, has appointed another “Czar”.   (Another Czar??)

Obama to name longtime political aide as ‘Ebola czar,’ bypassing senior health official

Responding to growing calls to appoint an “Ebola czar” to lead America’s battle against the deadly virus, President Obama plans to name Ron Klain, a longtime political hand with no apparent medical or health care background.

He did, however, serve as chief of staff to Al Gore and later Vice President Biden.

In making the appointment, Obama will effectively bypass another official, Dr. Nicole Lurie, who has served as assistant secretary for preparedness and response (ASPR) at the Department of Health and Human Services since July 2009.

Congress, nearly a decade ago, created that post, which would seem to fit the bill for Ebola coordinator — at least on paper.

I guess the Obama appointed head of the CDC (Tom Frieden) isn’t protecting his boss enough.   Even though he came with the highest recommendation from his last boss, Mike Bloomberg.

According to the LA Times, during Dr. Tom Frieden’s seven-year-long tenure as commissioner of the New York City Health Department, he “helped ban public smoking in bars and restaurants.” He “also worked alongside [Mayor Michael] Bloomberg to promote a soda tax, arguing that it would help to lower obesity rates.”

Fox News superstar Bill O’Reilly, who wrote the following in his latest piece, titled, “Incompetence, Going Viral“:

Dr. Thomas Frieden is the very personification of the politically correct nanny state when it comes to soda, free condoms, cigarettes, and trans fats, but he risks American lives out of concern for “fledgling” West African nations. Perhaps he would be more diligent if Liberians were drinking Big Gulp sodas as they were boarding in Monrovia.

. . . Let’s be clear. There is absolutely, positively no reason that citizens from Ebola-stricken nations should be allowed into the United States right now. And there is no reason for Dr. Thomas Frieden to keep his job. He may have been ideally suited to fight a war on those dastardly big sodas, but he is intellectually unarmed when we are at war with a deadly disease. President Obama is urging hospitals across the country to protect Americans by learning and following the proper protocols. Well, Mr. President, how about protecting us from Dr. Frieden?

Under “Dr. Frieden” the CDC has wasted billions of dollars on studies, reports, and suggested bans on a wide number of non-disease related causes; second-hand smoke, obesity, gun ownership,  voting Republican (I made the last one up).   Also I noticed that Dr. Frieden has explained that a reason he is opposed to a travel ban on those West African countries that are experiencing rampant Ebola pandemics is that it “would harm their economies“.   That surprised me, I didn’t know that concern was part of his job description.

So, here’s the question.  Why does Barry always appoint a “Czar” every time  a (Presidential)  Job Related problem come up?  Isn’t he the “World’s Smartest Man“?  Or is he?  Maybe Barry Soetoro (whose college records are still more secret than the NSA files released by Edward Snowden) isn’t all that smart?

If I had had to have another guy hired to do all my work when I was a engineer, I don’t think I would have lasted very long.  But that’s private sector.  It’s different in government.  I guess.
