Shine a light on me.

I don’t have a smart phone and things like this are why I will never get a smart phone.

Your “smartphone” is a computer (let us repeat that, your smartphone is a computer), more computer than NASA had to land a man on the Moon, and when is the last time you loaded a virus checker or Malware scanner on it?

“Huh?”  You reply.  But Apps are programs and contain as many potential risks as it can provide useful and safe programs.  I checked Android Central, a popular spot for information and links to smartphone apps, and found over 14K of links searching for “flashlight“,  only 107 hits on “malware“.
