The truth about the tea party
from JOE SCARBOROUGH
Joe attacks the political meme that the Tea Party is hurting the Republican Party, as he points out…
— They energized a conservative movement battered by eight years of bloated Republicanism,
— they shocked the political world by taking Ted Kennedy’s seat,
— they put Obama Democrats in a constant defensive crouch,
— they led the resistance against “Obamacare,”
— they helped bring about the largest legislative landslide in U.S. history in 2010,
— they grabbed six seats in the U.S. Senate that year,
— they helped elect six governors,
— they helped win 700 seats in state legislatures, and
— they helped elect a Republican majority that included the largest number of Republicans elected since 1946.
So the real reason that many people on the left are trying to drive a wedge between the GOP (and all moderates) and Tea Party supporters is that they have been effective.
And we will continue doing what we are doing until we have broken the back of the Democratic Party’s left wing.
Sharp reaction to Obama’s ‘bayonets’
Monument honors U.S. ‘horse soldiers’ who invaded Afghanistan
Obama’s apologists are pointing out that he only said the US military uses “fewer” bayonets and horses, not that we don’t use them at all. But it think it was clear that his arguement is in support of the kind of high-tech “drone” warfare he prefers to wage; death from above, death without warrant or quarter, death that often sacrifices any hope of future intelligence from interrogation. For a “Noble Peace Prize” winner, he gets off on sending machines to kill men.
But his drones, if they had existed, would have been useless in 2001 in Afghanistan. They could not have done the job the Army Special Forces did, gaining allies among the Afghans and following the Taliban over the rough ground at the same speed as our friends and our foes.
And try to slit a throat at night with a drone, quietly.
Obama does not understand war, he does not understand men, he does not want to take one dollar away from his federal give-away to his wretched indolent supporters.
