Dear friends came up to visit last weekend and were curious about the places I launch from. So I took them on a tour. Didn’t bring any boats, both are recovering from foot injuries.
It was interesting, they saw things that I have seen many times but never saw.
The North River Valley was looking especially nice on this Early Spring day (as in, it’s a early spring with the greenery much advanced).
The blog is called ON the North River, but BY or Looking At the North River would work too.
So we visited Elm Street, the Indian Head River Launch.
Brick Klin Lane, the Pembroke Town Landing Launch. And met Don (Now, where did I put his card?).
And nicely geared out he is too!
Marshfield, Bridge Street Launch and Nature Preserve.
God bless those crazy kids, bridge jumping in April into 48 degree water!
Driftway in Scituate, Launch, and Nature Park.
Something new added…
Town of Scituate hopes to get half its municipal electric energy from that. Good Luck.
- My friends became alarmed by the warnings on the sign. “Be careful”, they said.

Very Nice, wish I was there.

I wish you had been there too, we opened several bottles of very nice wine. (The Au gratin was over-cooked, everything else was nice).

John, is that the same “mouth of the river” that you and I kayaked into and paddled against the current for what seemed an eternity!

Close, it is where we launched from. That was the day we went down the Herring River, over to the South River, back against the current (which seemed to be impressed upon your memory) then up-river a bit.
That was a nice day.
