Gun ownership ‘very difficult’ despite Supreme Court rulings
D.C. Councilman Phil Mendelson says the District is in compliance with the Supreme Court’s ruling, but acknowledges that the process can be complicated.
He is introducing legislation aimed at streamlining some of the requirements and fees, but notes that Washington will always have restrictive gun laws.
“This is the nation’s capital, and we have a higher public safety burden than any other city in this country,” Mendelson said.
I’m quite sure there was a superior Liberal smile on his face when he said it (Oh, you know what I’m talking about, you have all seen it). So let me see if I’ve got this straight, The Supreme Court rules on what is the law of the land, but D.C. is in a different land? Somehow?
Same problem in Chicago, a long and expensive process to go through. Even for the man that went all the way to the Supreme Court and won his case. Two years later and he’s still without the necessary permit to protect his family in a increasingly violent city.
Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association, thinks many gun control advocates are thumbing their noses at the Supreme Court.
I do believe he’s right. So what are we going to do about it? When you win in court and nothing changes, its not a legal problem anymore. Its a political problem. After that its …what?
Lets head down to the pub and talk a little revolution.
The Truth HBO’s ‘Game Change’ Hides: Palin Carried McCain Until He Changed the Game
…After the election, when the Republican establishment began to self-destruct, Palin rallied the conservative base yet again. She became an important voice in the burgeoning Tea Party movement. She helped lead Republicans to the greatest congressional victory in several generations. Her success stopped the Obama agenda dead in its tracks. That’s a real “game change” worthy of a film – and the story’s still being written.
Amen.
“Kansas GOP House Speaker ‘Prays’ That Obama’s ’Children Be Fatherless And His Wife A Widow.‘”
This is the title of an article from the partisan left-wing website called thinkprogress.org. Convincing, right? Well, if you don’t do your own research, you will end up like the thousands of individuals who fell for the spin this website and many others have put on this story…
If not the truth, this is at least in the same country as the truth. Kansas House Speaker Mike O’Neal forwarded an email to his colleagues quoting the Bible passage Psalms 109:8, which reads, “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.”
Most people have interrupted the words used as intended by the Speaker to the (private) recipient, That (Obama) be out of office, in other words denied re-election, and another candidate be chosen as an new President.
However, the bibical lines following that passage (which were not part of the email sent by the Speaker) do go a little fire and brimstone, all smitety on his ass; “Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.” Wow, pretty harsh! If he had said that, which. he. didn’t!!!
The article’s author, obviously a red neck hater…
Or not.
Anyway, the young lady points out its not as if anyone wrote a play detailing the assassination of the president, specifically identifying him by name. Or the death by disease of other conservative notables. (If you don’t remember when that happened during the Bush administration I suggest you look it up.)
As I always say; How can you tell when a liberal is lying? Their lips are moving.
First the Dutch Pull the Plug on Wind Subsidies, Now Germany Throws in Towel on Solar Subsidies
“One of the world’s biggest green-energy public-policy experiments is coming to a bitter end in Germany, with important lessons for policymakers elsewhere.”
From the comments; Paul
“I will not walk away from the promise of clean energy. I will not cede the wind or solar or battery industry to China or Germany because we refuse to make the same commitment here.”
~Barack Obama 2012 SOTU
Our idiot President may end up winning this battle by default.
I couldn’t find words to put it better than that. Thank You Paul.
Is Iran Conflict Increasing Sausage Costs?
Nuremberg’s Bratwurst Dilemma
…Steiner says he heard one supplier raised its prices six times in 2011. He credits the price increases with instability in Iran, fewer sheep being slaughtered in the country, and more competition from places like China, which is stepping up its sausage production.
“There are other countries of origin,” he says, including Turkey and New Zealand. “But traditionally the best sheep’s intestines come from Iran.”
No Bratwurst!! Damn, now they have us by the short hairs!
