SOT (stand on top) paddleboarding grows in popularity and looks like fun.
I found that in my case it should be called S(b)OT for “standing briefly on top” paddleboarding. Either my balance or stiff joints made this very much a keystone cops routine for me. I couldn’t take my own picture out on the water, but these are my classmates. Bare in mind, they all did better than me.

Well, now I know.
Update, I could not understand why I was unable to do this. I’ve always had good balance, good on the water, quick reflexes…so why couldn’t I paddleboard?
Spinal cyst is the answer. It’s pressing onto the nerves going to the hips and the legs. It wasn’t until the pain started that it got diagnosed and a treatment plan got going. So far, not so good.
I thought about renaming the blog,”On the Northerner’s Ass”, but that’s taken.
Hopefully by next summer I’ll be back.
