He was right about at least one thing, the police, the courts and especially the social workers are NOT your friends. Tom Ball got caught in nightmare sequence of police procedures on domestic violence, court procedures on domestic violence, and social agencies procedures with husbands accused of domestic violence. Most of these procedures have evolved not from a desire for justice as embodied in the Constitution and Bill of Rights, but because they move the case along quickly, jack up the arrest and conviction statistics and are politically popular with the mostly leftist members of the legal establishment and social workers.

Tom felt in the end that he was under attack in a war on men, a war that is destroying middle-class families and is responsible for the increase in homelessness among men, women, and children. Unemployed and unable to pay support he chose to end his life rather than go to jail. Read his last statement, its the least we can do.
