SeaLions Beach

Drove to Cape Cod, The Cape Cod National Seashore.  Sand, Sea and Surf.

Met another visitor who was kind enough to alert us to the Sea-lions were basking in Truro at “Head of the Meadow” beach.

There be creatures here!

A beautiful desert.

To get to the seal basking beach it’s almost two mile round trip over wet, drifting sand.  High heels are NOT recommended!

Some residents were less than thrilled to see us.

The ‘Line in the Sand’ a Sea Lion makes on the beach.

At low tide the waves break over the sandbar.  The seals are safe, the sharks can’t get into the deep pool.

Now the long walk back to the car…

The Opioid Epidemic

The Opioid Epidemic in 6 Charts Designed To Deceive You

I do not know Dr. Andrew Kolodny,  personally, and, aside from one brief phone call last year, I have had no contact with him. Therefore I cannot know his motivation for becoming a driving force behind “opioid reform”— a concept which would border on hysterically funny if not for the tragedy that it is causing in this country.

I’m always skeptical about these “Everyone on the bandwagon” crusades and I know people who were denied the pain medication they needed due to it.   My guess is that Dr. Kolodny qualifies as a Social Justice Warrior.   I HATE SJW’s!

Presidency going for $100,000, do I hear $44,000. How about $7,000?

The last chapter of the Russian influence in the (2016) election.

After an extensive review, Facebook has identified $100,000 of ads that came from accounts associated with Russia. Assume for the sake of argument that Vladimir Putin personally authorized this expenditure. Given its divisive nature, the campaign could be dubbed “From Russia, With Hate”—except it would make for a disappointing James Bond movie.

Analyzing the pattern of expenditures, and doing some back-of-the-envelope math, it’s clear this was no devilishly effective plot. Facebook says 56% of the ads ran after the election, reducing the tally that could have influenced the result to about $44,000. It also turns out the ads were not confined to swing states but also shown in places like New York, California and Texas. Supposing half the ads went to swing states brings the total down to $22,000.

Facebook also counted ads as early as June 2015. Assuming they were evenly spread and we want only those that ran the year of the election, that knocks it down to $13,000. Most of the ads did not solicit support for a candidate and carried messages on issues like racism, immigration and guns. The actual electioneering then amounts to about $6,500.

Thou art mortal.

This viral email announces a national Veteran’s Day weekend boycott of the NFL in a “gut-check” kind of way.

“To the players of the NFL: We are the people who buy your tickets, watch you on TV, and wear your jerseys. We anxiously wait for Sundays so we can cheer for you and marvel at your athleticism. Although we love to watch you play, we care little about your opinions until you offend us. You have the absolute right to express yourselves, but we have the absolute right to boycott you. We have tolerated your drug use and DUIs, your domestic violence, and your vulgar displays of wealth. We should be ashamed for putting our admiration of your physical skills before what is morally right. But now you have gone too far… You have insulted our flag, our country, our soldiers, our police officers, and our veterans. You are living the American dream, yet you disparage our great country. I am done with NFL football and encourage all like minded Americans to boycott the NFL as well.”

See why this is getting so much attention.

This viral NFL email has been burning up people’s inboxes

Key Witness in Las Vegas Shooting Kills Self and Daughter Following FBI Raid

A key witness in the Las Vegas shooting massacre has killed himself and his disabled daughter in a horrific murder-suicide shortly after the FBI raided his home. John Beilman was wanted for questioning by federal agents in connection with a communications device discovered in suspected shooter Stephen Paddock’s hotel room.

A Lone Gunman.  Right.   What the Hell is going on here?

If West Point is this bad, no wonder it graduated a Communist

An open letter by retired LtCol Robert M. Heffington, a former lecturer at the US Military Academy at West Point, paints a grim picture of the institution.

… during my time on the West Point faculty (2006–2009 and again from 2013–2017), I personally witnessed a series of fundamental changes at West Point that have eroded it to the point where I question whether the institution should even remain open.

. . .

I am compelled to say ‘Read the Rest’, but it’s sickening.

What if it’s true?

Weinstein Scandal Was Old News Released To Regain Control Of the Vegas Narrative

Just a few days ago, it seemed as if all anyone could talk about was the Las Vegas mass shooting. As the largest scale event of its kind in the history of the United States though, this seemed only appropriate. In the wake of the attack however, something unprecedented slowly seemed to happen. The mainstream media seemingly lost control of the narrative. With few clear official answers being offered up by the press, it was the so called “fringe” or “alternative” news media that carried the real torch of actual investigative journalism. A reality that an ever increasing numbers of readers seemed to understand.

With that in mind it’s no wonder the old guard media have been working in overdrive these last few days to make Vegas old news. Sadly it seems like they have succeeded, with America’s attention now moved onto much more important things then the brutal mass murder of its own citizens. Things like the latest Hollywood sex scandal. Too busy with this latest bit of “breaking news” to keep questioning the many parts of the Vegas story that just don’t quite add up yet.

Weinstein Scandal is a Psy-Op. This is getting too much undeserved attention. Do we really care about Hollywood producers this much?

Indeed!  When did Harvey Weinstein become so important?  Or is it that he is just unimportant enough to be sacrificed, yet famous enough to serve?

One movie that Harvey Weinstein didn’t produce, but that seems relevant, is “The Parallax View”.

Plot

TV newswoman Lee Carter (Paula Prentiss) is one of many witnesses to the public assassination of presidential candidate Senator Charles Carroll (Bill Joyce) atop the Seattle Space Needle. A waiter armed with a revolver is chased but falls to his death. Meanwhile, a second waiter, also armed, leaves the crime scene unnoticed. A congressional special committee determines that the assassination was the work of a lone gunman.

Sound familiar?
