Heinlein

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man.
Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded -- here and there, now and then -- are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck." -- Robert A. Flash! First Robin of Spring.
Pretty late for this area. But for a ground forager; frozen ground, several feet of snow still covering everything and what should be open water is ice. Took a later flight North, I guess. Didn’t come near the house either, … Continue reading

BOSTON (AP) — Boston’s made history by having the snowiest, and probably most miserable, season since 1872. The official measurement of 108.6 inches at Logan International Airport Sunday night topped a season record of 107.6 inches set in 1995-96, according … Continue reading

March 1st… Yay! I hope.
And finally, it is a modern seasonal custom to display the images of girls in Bikinis (or less) to conjure up powerful sympathetic magic hastening the oncoming of warmer weather… (Pssst, Doug! This is the one you asked for!)

Democrats, no doubt.
Until the knee is healed from the surgery, I’m limited to taking photos of the house and yard. Remember, don’t feed birds bread during the winter. There aren’t enough calories, they can starve with full stomachs.

I think when I get the bill I’ll need a good stiff drink… Nah! No stiff drink… now I can’t afford it. Just kidding, it’s worth every penny. These guys did a great job. Boy! Do I hate winter!!!
