FBI: More People Killed with Hammers, Clubs Each Year than Rifles

According to the FBI annual crime statistics, the number of murders committed annually with hammers and clubs far outnumbers the number of murders committed with a rifle.

This is an interesting fact, particularly amid the Democrats’ feverish push to ban many different rifles, ostensibly to keep us safe of course.

Rifles, not handguns, and very few murderers have killed more than one or two people at a time with a club (read: Baseball Bat). Not that it couldn’t happen.

The Battle of Cannae (216BC), fought mostly with edged weapons, limited projectile weaponry, in a single day. Estimates of the dead from 50,000 to 90,000. Both sides had good Armour. Can  you imagine what it took to kill a single soldier, hacking and stabbing to get through his guard and protection? In comparison, the first day of the Normandy Invasion (June 6th, 1944) cost less than 5,000 allied casualties.

A  .45 round is overkill against an unprotected human body, inside a room against unarmed victims you don’t really need that range and penetration. A Baseball Bat would work just as well, or a chainsaw, even a machete would be sufficient to recreate your own little Cannae. Because the Nanny-Staters have disarmed everyone (The Citizens at least) in the urban battlezone. Not so much as a pocket-knife is allowed. Even wearing bullet-resistant vests are not allowed, by citizens. (Criminals wear them when they feel like it, though not as frequently as the media would have you believe.)

There is only one tool that would transform a 100lb. schoolteacher or a 60 year old janitor into the equal of armed hoodlum or incipient serial killer. Samuel Colt invented it back in 1847 and it has been improved and perfected until today it is available to suit shooters of greatly different sizes and ages.
